Hello all,
I am about to update my CFW and OFW, and need to know if it is prudent to create a fresh SD card in order to accomplish these tasks?
How do I prepare a fresh SD card in Switchy? As you know, while you are in CFW (Atmospehere here), if you remove the SD card, the system prompts you to turn it off.

My goal is to create a fresh SD card, install AIO and update my CFW and OFW that way.

I know this will be hard to believe, but there’s a chapter on that over here: https://rentry.org/FAT32FormatSD

I still recommend starting at the top of the guide and working your way through it to learn the ropes:

Another quick question:

1) Where does the CFW (Atmosphere) and OFW get installed, on the internal memory of Switch? In other words, the SD card that I insert onto Switch does not contain any OS related files?

2) Do you recommend that I create a fresh SD card and update my CFW and OFW that way? (either using AIO Updater or manual copy)

3) Do you recommend FAT32 or exFAT?

1) atmosphere files are on sd card. OFW is installed in system nand. emunand is on sd card, either in its own partition or stored in files, depending on how you set it up first.
2). Doesn't really matter, if you don't care about your save files and installed games you can reformat your sd card and start fresh. Otherwise you can keep your existing emunand install and update cfw files first, then emunand later with daybreak.
3). FAT32 is the only option. exFAT is prone to corruption on cfw systems.
