Ah crap, I thought it was safe to upgrade to 15.0.0 since I was going to recreate my EmuNAND anyway. DIdn't notice the latest version is now 15.0.1.

When trying to boot Atmosphere now, I get this error:

A fatal error has occurred when running Fusee.
Incorrect fusee version! (program=0xb46dcf71, mtc=0xd140bf51f)

Press POWER to reboot.

Is the error because fusee needs to be updated for 15.0.1?

You cannot downgrade with Hekate but you can technically downgrade with EmmcHaccGen. But there are a few problems. One is that this tool hasn't been updated in a long time so who knows how high or low it can downgrade you. Secondly, downgrading the firmware not only can cause an issue with the anti-downgrade fuses but save data may not be compatible at lower firmware versions requiring a factory reset in order to complete the downgrade. If these things don't bother you, then you can go ahead and try downgrading.

Im trying to update my switch from CFW 13.2 to a newer one (14 or 15) but i've some questions before making errors:

1. using rentry guide, i dont understand the step when says to use fusee.bin. I've checked my sd and in the bootloader folder there isnt any file named fusee. Its a new step to make or im missing something?
2. Lockpick_rcm. I dont understand the use and the need for that...
3. It's safe to go in cfw 15 or may i have some problems ? i see no games required latest fw atm...

Fusee.bin can be found on Atmosphere github, lockpick is used to derives encryption keys, as for to update to not you decide that yourself, that are some homebrew problem with firmware 15.0.0

No, if you got banned on your unit, you need a new unit for online access as they do system ban not account ban,

So...fusee.bin required, lockpick required to be on sd too and fw better to wait and stay on 14.1 for compatibility issues with some hb. It's right?

You can either use fusee.bin to boot Atmosphere or use a ffs0 build that boot Atmosphere with package3.

As for updating you can decide that yourself, there was some broken sysmods last weeks

Everything I’ve tested at this point works, has updates, or at least has a viable workaround.

The main one I was concerned about ended up being user error on my part.

(My apologies to @cathery for the unnecessary noise!)

I’m using 15.0.1 as of last night but I agree w/ @Hayato213
…there’s no compelling reason to upgrade until such time a necessary game requires it…that could be many MONTHS from now.

I use a different installer (like Tinwoo) that can run in applet mode to install the Very small Othello.nsp. I keep Othello on my system for the very purpose of providing my first Title so I can do title override.
