As the title sugest, which do you guys prefer? Maybe also for GBA emulation, etc.

3DS is not emulation (well, at least software emulation) so it will be always better (perfect compatibility and 0 input latency) than any software solution

Dual Screen Systems are always better on their original systems, I'd go with the 3DS.
GBA is better on the Switch tho because you can use filters and have more accurate emulation with the extra power.

GBA on the switch is better if you want extras like higher resolution, filters...
But if you want accuracy, 3ds is the way to go as it runs gba games natively thanks to the onboard gba hardware, via injections or open_agb_firm.

Which emu gives you higher reso on the switch? can't seem to find the option on Retroarch.

mgba or retroarch (you can't find it but it's somewhere)

For NDS, I would say GBA but I hate how blurry it is and the dpad being down on the console (but it's the same on the Switch so .... whatever)

I found out playing on standalone mGBA emulator on the switch with pixel-perfect screen mode enabled on the configuration gives amazing result. I'm doing it on my OLED screen, it's so crisp and the contrast is really good. mGBA retroarch's core is quite blurry so I don't recommend it.

from my understanding DS and GBA run's hardware emulation , something similar to fpga ( the arm co-processor inside the 3ds are very similar to the ones inside the gba and DS respectively )
while switch uses software emulation

TLDR 3DS is better at DS and gba emulation
