Hello,

I would like to bring back my 3DS and be able to update some games on internet.

The 3DS is on version 11.0.6.0-39E

I have a Supercard DSTwo 2 in 1 to play DS roms. That actually works and I want to be sure it will still work if I upgrade the 3DS.
Supercard is actually in Dstwo Evolution Operating System version 1.11

If I try to upgrade DSTWO PLUS EOS to v1.14 as provided on supercard website, I have an error 'THIS IS NOT DS2PLUS. PRESS (A), EXIT'

Question is : should I upgrade Supercard before upgrading 3DS to prevent it to be broken?
And if yes, what would be the best way to do it? and which version should I take that would work with latest 3DS firmware?

Thanks !

the firmware of the card itself and the eos are two different things. one upgrades the card's firmware; the other is just a bunch of files you put on your sd card.

the supercard dstwo has never not worked with the 3ds, even after the update that black listed many carts. I think it's because it contains internal memory.

There are two versions of the flashcart - DSTwo and DSTwo+ (which includes a clone of the Gateway 3DS hardware). Maybe you need the non-plus version of the firmware?

[Edit: double negative means the flashcart SHOULD work, and I agree!] I can confirm that my DSTwo (non-plus) has always worked with my 3DSes (o3DS, n3DS XL).

Been using it on my New 3DS XL before and after CFW.
However, is anyone noticing shortened battery life?
From what I noticed (maybe just my 3DS's old battery?) and read elsewhere that it drains the battery constantly when plugged even when not active.

Please confirm.

Yours still works? Mine was in a drawer for many years. I tested it out and it wouldn't boot/be recognized. I haven't had time to get a decent magnifier to see if there's a break in a trace somewhere.

Yup mine still works. Haven't really unplugged from my 3DS ever since I bought it lol. Noticed the absurdly short battery life on my 3DS compared to online and I've always blamed it on the battery. Apparently there are versions of Luma that cut off Cardslot power when not in use.

@Cactopus The battery drain from the SC DSTwo is a pretty common issue that many people have had. I personally can't speak about the severity since I use mine too infrequently to notice. That said, it is quite likely that the battery may be wearing out which then compounds on the issue at hand.

Just as an update: The modified Luma 10.3 version cartridge power cutoff plugin works beautifully. Once enabled its icon no longer shows on the 3DS Home menu (presumably no longer powered) and you can still access it from the linked CIA app.

Now I can leave it in my 3DS indefinitely. Frequent removal wears down the contact pins anyway.

Awesome. Now, come fix mine! Battery drain aside, it's my favorite cart.

Edit: cutting off power with Rosalina is clutch, but that fork has just a tad too many customizations to use. Maybe somebody did a pull request for that feature on main branch or nanquitas fork?

So far I haven’t found them. However the customizations were just options added to Rosalina menu and are not enabled by default. Switching to the version is just dragging the files into the SD card root folder. Definitely worth it in my opnion.

Just the Day/Night light settings are by default on and has been auto setting my brightness based on time which I didn’t like and turned them off, except auto-dimming turning off LED indicator lights from, lets say 7:30pm to 7:30 am.

Well, now disabling the game card slot is a regular feature of Rosalina as of Luma 11.

"Add option to toggle card slot (#1202)"

I'm good with vanilla. I don't need a bunch of extras.
