Does anyone know where you can get a pc compatible DDR hard pad? I have a friend that is wanting to play stepmania and has never owned a hard pad before. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

LTEK seems to be the famous choice amongst players nowadays. They are very pricey though, just like any other rhythm game controllers out there...
If you are really dedicated, You can also try to get an old DDR/ITG cab (even just a pad) and restore it. There are lots of IO options you can use to hook them up to modern PC. The most authentic experience but is also pricey.

Thanks for the advice I will look into Ltek for sure and let my friend know. I do have a friend that restores and repairs arcade cabinets. he has a DDR cab in his warehouse but I don't think he would ever part with it lol.

LTEK are good, I bought 2 pads about 4 years ago. Concerning the price, it's not bad - especially if you are in the Europe and so shipping will be less.
Compared to a real A20 machine, the ones I bought, for me they do not compare. But I do not regret my purchase.
I haven't seen that new EX PRO model - that does look cool!

If you are really dedicated, you will get StepmaniaX:

You can get the full cabinet, or just the pads.
This is the premium expensive thing, forget about restoring a cab unless you have lots of time.
