Wow thank you mate! ahem, i really don't know if my switch is using EmuNAND or SysNAND...
No worries. If not explicitly called out it defaults to emunand. You can check which type (files or partition based) by pasting the contents of your /emummc/emummc.ini

If you’re not on emunand we can fix that easily enough.

Seems like I don't have any emummc.ini inside emummc folder. I don't know if this is useful, but the microsd is in exfat format.

Gross. Just kidding. So how much data and setup do you have on this card? A lot of games? A lot of game saves? A lot of homebrew? Do you perhaps have another card?mmi’m thinking we can back things up to a card/PC and format this card and just deploy fresh. Thoughts?

I really don't mind formatting fresh a new card and installing everything form the beginning. i have fast connection, so it's not big deal to "find" new games. Also, i really don't know what the guy who sold me the console did with this machine, so fresh start it is!

So you need to read a little, go to https://nh-server.github.io/switch-guide/ and read the basics and follow the guides. you are adviced to format to SD card on to Fat32. the process is easy but you do need to know what are you doing, so do not skip the basic concepts.

Lots of guides around. Some good some bad.

I think this one is decent: https://rentry.org/SwitchHackingIsEasy

The one @impeeza linked is a good one too.

Read read read and stay away from outdated YouTube videos!

Ok, quick update. I first tried the shortcut by only updating the files, but when i launch atmosphere i got a fatal error (such dramatic syntax). so, nothing achieved yet. i think i'll try the "noob guide" from the beginning.

One last thing, is it normal when i push the power button nothing happenes? i mean, battery is fully charged, i don't know if this console should at least launch the stock switch os or not, but as i wrote before, i really don't understand this hack, so i need to study.

if you want to try a proper short cut your best shot is to do this: https://rentry.org/MigrateToAtmosphere1_0_0
It will likely work but I’d still like to get yiu into FAT32 for longevity purposes.

I will regret this because you’ll probably just take the cheap win and move on without understanding how things work, but here is an ultimate short cut: https://github.com/sthetix/HATS

Perhaps auto-rcm is enabled?

I think @x3n0 might be on to something.

To test the theory, let’s get to square one…

  1. Mindlessly hold the power button for 15 seconds (to turn the Switch completely off).
  2. Gently but firmly tap the (Power) button and inject Hekate
  3. When you see the Hekate logo pop up, celebrate silently in your head, but deftly smash the (Vol -) button to get to the Hekate menu.
  4. Carefully select ‘Options > Auto boot’ and observe if AutoRCM is on or off.
  5. inform us so we can award fake internet point.
