i see people saying that you can build a wii u game with unity do i need a devkit do i have to remake my game from scratch or is it just converting it to wii u raw format how do i get started? where do i download the resources has anybody had any success with it

You have to make the games from scratch
ok so you cant just port a pc unity game to wii u easily you have to pretty much remake it well how do i get started i know how to devolop unity games ive done it for like 1+ year or sum is there a specific version or tools i need for wii u

Well if you got the source code and all the assets you could in theory do it. But it won't be anyway easy.

IIRC You need to sign a NDA at https://developer.nintendo.com/home to get access to developent resources and tools from Nintendo. This NDA includes the statement that you're not allowed to publish what you did with the official SDK except through Nintendos offiicial distribution channels (disc release, eShop).

So using the official SDK / Unity probably isn't the best idea for homebrew games as you can't release them.

I personally wouldn't advise you to waste your time with Unity, especially on the Wii U.

If you want a simple way to make games for the Wii U, you can use some HTML5 framework. of course you will have to consider the limitations of the web browser, but at least you don't need to waste your time and resources using an outdated version of the engine or paying for an outdated SDK with no reliability in the long term. Your other option would be to learn to use devkitPPC.
