in 2022 what is the point of putting someone in que for over an hour if you cant give them a product? this has nothing to do with technology. Sony is designing the buying process to treat customers like Subhumans to manipulate you like they do in gatcha games. the more people who subject themselves to this crap the more companies will find it okay and guess what we wont get an option to $5 reserve a steamdeck in the future because the analytics will show most humans dont mind being treated like subhumans.

when will gamers grow a pair and boycott these companies who do things that have nothing to do with buying and selling their product. making these fake rigged ques has nothing to do with product delivery. imagine if amazon put you into a que to search for and buy products lol. people should be putting sony to shame for this but no one seems to care.

they made me wait for nothing. because they are too corrupt to operate like normal companies. they know exactly how many they have in stock and can easily setup a better method than treating customers like filth.
Lol, If they knew a better method they would, You think they intentionally want to make it take longer for them to get money from you?

What a joke of a thread

Guess you can start and give up your spot in line from here until eternity. Start boycotting now and never loose another hour in line. On a serious note if you want to get mad at someone for this, start with the scalpers as they are the reason for the (jump through hoops) shit when trying to buy consoles. Now if you vented and feel a little better just remember to keep at it and eventually you will get one.

Edit...and yes they know how many they have but alot...and i mean alot of people get in line just to see if they could get one...see people on twitter all the time that do this and no company knows how many will back out of the sale before its sold.

PS5 sold at scalper prices is gonna stay for awhile for most people around the world, and sony can't and won't do anything bout it unless it truly affects them

A codependent abusive relationship actually. One where you (as the customer) love being tied to.
at least for me this was a last straw. i wont be buying a ps5 from sony ever after this experience. one of my best childhood memories was skipping highschool with a bunch of friends to camp out overnight for a ps2. a different day in age where companies didnt want to mistreat their customers. the good memories of getting a console and staying up all night just to play Ready 2 rumble boxing and SSX after rushing through the store to get the console.

i drove 3 hours on launch day to get my nintendo switch and botw and no issue. allowing companies to continue to make up shortage excuses and other excuses for being a bad company that cant produce is something i wont forget. alot of people that love being mistreated have already accepted scalpers, shortages, and every other reason for why they cant get one.

every friend i know that has gotten a ps5 through a scalper and i scolded them and called them an idiot and refuse to play with their ps5. i still havent touched a ps5 and the console has been out for quite a while. and after how sony treated this rollout i most likely never even though i love games be ever to support sony financially with any of my $$ ever again. i might go try to buy an xbox next and see if they are playing the same bs games and then cut them off the list. who knows i may never buy another console again. im going to be rich boycotting these companies that usually get most of my spendable income. their loss not mine.

Apparently mistreatment is having to wait in essentially a line. God forbid you enter a food court then.

It's spelt gacha, and this and that aren't comparable. Plenty of games give away currency, items, free rolls, etc. for plenty of reasons. You wait an hour because of a technological scarcity that has impacted literally all industries. It is something literally out of their hands, not an "excuse." It is just reality. People "accepted" scalpers because they've always been a thing. People "accepted" shortages because what are they gonna do? It simply can't be helped.

"I drove 3 hours on launch day" in 2017. I wonder if there's a massive difference between then and these past few years, maybe?

I had to wait a year to get a Wii. Then I had to wait almost a year to get a Wii Balance Board. I'm relieved to report that the wait didn't turn me into a whiney Nintendo-boycotting entitled little b¡tch.
you must have sucked at finding products so why would you whine when you arent smart enough to find a wii when they were very easy to get.

okay lemming. you believe the scarcity lies and other blatant lies. i worked in manufacturing for years and worked for semi conductor and aerospace companies that used tons of product. you will accept alot of things i will not because you dont mind being treated like shit. well enjoy being treated like shit and giving money to people who treat you like shit as a part of their marketing gimmics.

i buy millions of dollars of products for the company i work for monthly that use tons of semiconductors. there was a small short term shortage scare but generally because the company i work for has $$ and government leverage we havent seen any shortages that have effected our ability to do more and more business than we did the previous year from the previous year. i am glad i work for a company that doesnt accept what you accept and actually has the balls to stand up for themselves and demand fixes to shortages. with the way you act these shortages will never end and sony can continue to raise price on people like you and give you less and less for your money.

i guess apple producing millions and millions of products and all the other companies that continue to produce computers without shortages at a much higher quantity than sony can make a playstation shouldnt be addressed either.

You don't know me, bucko. So don't start talking down to me about "you would accept anything," for I actually have a low tolerance of bull. Like everything you've been saying up to now, entire paragraphs of bull. I'm not buying a PS5, I'm don't even put up with Nintendo or Sony, so be quiet.

You don't seem to acknowledge the basic fact that this doesn't actually benefit the companies? Hypothetical (and nonsensical) Sony is purposely not making more PS5s, people either usually never give them money or turn to scaplers, which Sony doesn't benefit from. The scalpers do. What if they want to treat their customers worse? Which benefits them because...? Sony, the company who had to live through the stigma of their hacks? Again, you just waited in a line. Grow up.
