Hello Fellow Tempers :)

I installed and tested several cia's from ScummVM ( 2.5.1 2.6.0 2.2.0 1.9.0 ) the 1.9.0 from a thread here in gbatemp has a Keyboard toggle when pressing "L" (not D-Pad).

I all other versions, there is also a Keyboard Toggle, but it is more of a Mobile Phone Style Keyboard....where "Enter" and "Space" and the "F" Keys are missing.

So....is there a solution ?

I didn't have any Programing skills...i wan't to ask if there is a possibility to implement the Keyboard from the gbatemp version ( https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-scummvm-3ds.422051/ ) in a newer version ('cause the newer ones have more Compability and more possible settings).

In specific i ask about the "AGI" Games such as Manhunter......when you where prompted to press "ENTER"...

thx in advance

*Downloads 3DS version ScummVM for the first time*

I didn't even find newer versions with a quick search. Official download page only offers 2.2.0

Opens a full keyboard for me (while in settings, not in game) with (X) button. After some adjustments in the game settings (game loaded) I got it to open the keyboard with (X) while playing as well. Make sure (X) isn't used for anything in game settings. Seems this overwrites the global setting for the keyboard. The (X) button was set to skipping dialog or cutscenes in my case.

The only Scumm game I had at hand for a test was "Day of the Tentacle"

This is what I got with v2.2.0 from https://www.scummvm.org/downloads/

Thank you, Misses Sinchen ....very nice Tip :)

If you open the "Game-Specific" Menu with "Select", there is no "Keymap" Tab, you have to open the "ScummVM " Menu with "Start" , then you have the "Keymap" Tab and you can change the setting for the Keyboard :)

Thank you very much !

This means… many platforms get daily builds… but not all platforms have a stable release on the normal download page despite this link contains the word "stable".

I have some part of Monkey Island on CD somewhere. Gotta search it. For whatever reason it is not in my backup archive… and I found my Sam&Max. Time to revisit those.

Do you own a Switch ?
Nope. Probably never due to Nintendo banning people from eShop for using homebrew/CFW. I don't support them financially anymore with their Mega-DRM.

The 3DS is a cool Console to enjoy those old time favs :)
The "newer" point&click adventures run in 640x480 if I remember correctly. Those won't quite work out on the 3DS screens. The older ones like DOTT and Sam&Max run in 320x240… as if they were created in the 1990s with the 3DS in mind ("Is this good as a paradox?")
=======

I'll try the games on 3DS.
