This is the program ive been looking for! After hours of spending time on how to get tinfoil working with a usb connection to my pc i gave up and kept using exfat copying software via Ftp to my sdcard and install directly off it.

Now i use tinwoo + an external usb hard drive connected to my dock to install software from the couch to my (now fat32 formatted) switch.

Thanks for the great work +1!

This is currently the best installer on the scene, bar none. Congratulations on a job well done.

I have one issue, though. Sometimes TinWoo simply refuses to recognize my external hard drive. I can connect it to any one of the three USB ports on the dock, before or after loading TinWoo, I can wait a while between opening TinWoo and selecting the USB HDD option, nothing works. Two days later, I try again and it works perfectly. I haven't noticed a pattern and it's really bugging me. This has been going on for months.

Can anyone shed some light?

OK I read
https://rentry.org/mys8q

Now I understand it could be super easy

I was use "sx os emunand on file" with switch's SD card

Not hide - partition

So dual boot sx os and ams on same sd card basically can't be done

So I need create another 32 GB ams Emummc( just like sx os emunand ) on another SD card right??

=========

Wait a minute

https://rentry.org/mys8q

This guide work on file-based sx os emunand?

If it work
I can just copy my entire SD card emunand to a new SD card
Then I update this new sd card emunand to 13.2?!

This way I can keep one SD card with old sx os ( with all the save/ game / cheat )

Migrate sx os to ams on new SD card?

I will get 13.2 running
And all the game needs to be reinstall?!

All the save / cheat no longer can be use?!

Right?

==========

Hmm

Sorry for late reply

I must update emunand firmware to 13.2 first

Before use this guide right?
https://rentry.org/mys8q

I use sx os emunand 10-11.0

So once I updated 13.2 firmware on SD card sx os will unable to boot

Then I put all the file from " https://rentry.org/mys8q " said to SD card

I get 13.2 running after use hekate migrate this emunand to emummc?

Right?

All the game/ save locate on old sx os cfw 10-11.0 etc will be gone once I use ams? Right?!

Here you go, for those that downloaded previous version that was crashing on Atmosphere, this is now recompiled on linux instead of windows(which was causing the issue). Tested on fw11 with the newest Atmosphere - game tested : Lost in Random.
Yay, fixed my problem! :)

Hi everyone ! I have a question. What is the use of the source code ? ^^
Basically two reasons: 1) it allows you to inspect the code to see if the software is doing something it shouldn't, and 2) if you have the source code you can modify it to add/remove features and theming, optimize it for your hardware, etc. - and you can even request to merge your changes to the main project so that others can benefit from them as well. So if you have the source code, you can be confident that you've got the best version of that software for your needs.

With closed-source software, you never know what malware-like or simply inefficient behavior it might be engaging in and it's much harder to alter it. So those are basically the two main differences.

Thanks for the app and I have been using it for some time as it comes together in Deepsea SD files. However, just now I installed the base game of MONSTER HUNTER STORIES 2 WINGS OF RUIN (XCI) it install smoothly, but when I install the 1.5.2 update (NSZ file), it can't be installed via USB, it shows failed to install that file, bufferdata:189: USB transfer timed out or fialed. Then i copy the update into my SD card and install from SD card it works. is that a problem with NSZ installation via USB?

Hopefully one month is enough time to repeat my query.

It seems that libzstd should be updated. There are more and more nsz files appeared that produce corrupted game after installing via tinwoo. There are no errors during install but game just crash on start.
If installing using other installers like DBI or decompress to NSP on PC before install via tinwoo the same nsz file works perfect.

You can update and compile yourself, the source is on github.

Ok. I get your point: do not report bug, but fix yourself.
I don't use nsz files, and am not interested in how other people compress them, if other devs keep updating the way they make nsz files, they can tell you what they changed and advise you on what you need to do. Otherwise compile tiwnwoo yourself with these updated libraries, or use a different installer such as DBI.

Protip: the person you're talking to is the dev of DBI. Probably trying to be helpful.

Hopefully third time's the charm. Though this project seems to have been abandoned, it still works.

The problem is becoming more frequent. I've been doing USB installs instead but the USB HDD option is so much more convenient, I'd really like for it to work again.
