Homebrew Question Trouble with shops in Tinfoil.

I am having an insane amount of trouble finding updates for my installed games, and figured I'd use Tinfoil shops to make updating/getting DLC a bit easier. But for some reason every shop I try will start the download, then just "freeze" a bit into it. The app doesn't freeze, but the download itself does. Even locking at a certain Mbs. Any ideas why? I never had this problem with Tinfoil before. This is a newly hacked switch, so has something changed since I last did this stuff?

I would gladly just grab updates manually, but it doesn't seem to "apply" to my installed games. Still asking me to update. I had none of these issues before. It's incredibly annoying.

Do you have the patches to launch backups?

I got it sorted. I just get them all manually. Works fine now, for some reason. Thanks for the reply regardless!

I also have this issue, tinfoil wont install the updates only or dlcs.. it says it has but it doesnt actually update.

if i delete my game then get tinfoil to download the game from one of the shops and the updates and dlc at the same time then it works fine...

You can get tinfoil to delete your game then download it again it will include the dlc and updates

Am I stupid or something strange is happening with my Tinfoil? Tinfoil is up and running on my Switch but I can't see any shop there, I and failed whenever I tried to add a shop, I'm stuck on a step when I need to press "-" to add a new entry in a File Browser on Tinfoil, but I always end up in the Options menu. Nothing is wrong with my joycons, I haven't noticed any issue with them.
Can I edit Tinfoil's file on my Windows and add the Protocol, host, and everything for the shop manually, or you guys can suggest to me what else I can do.
Please help. <3

Hmm not sure. Make sure you're using the latest version and the latest sigpatches. Stealth Shop works fine for me, just used it. Not sure if the new firmware is required as well. Sorry I can't help more.

Sure. Some shops have a premade package with Tinfoil that already has the shop added to the config. You can use that as a template to add more. locations.json is the file you want.

I could add a shop easy this time and I can see all the games there but I have a problem with the installation of the game now. When I start the game installation, it stops or sometimes doesn't even start. The installation counter is stuck at 0% and disappears after a while.

Try using TinWoo Installer. Its what I personally use and have never run into any issues.

Same here. Tinfoil became too troublesome so switched to Tinwoo
