My SD card got corrupted so I had to format it and I ended up losing all the files. I managed to recover some data but I had to redo my CFW, the problem is that when I get into FBI.3dsx following the 3DS Hacks Guide "Restoring / Updating CFW" then "Finalizing Setup", the application simply does not install any .cia file ...

Could somebody help me? I'm almost freaking out thinking about losing my N2DSXL...

Edit: also, is there any possibility for me to restore my save files? If so, where are they stored? I have a good data recovery program installed on my computer so i could try to find and recover the files.

Take a look at https://3ds.hacks.guide/restoring-updating-cfw which goes over restoring what you need

How exactly did you....redo your cfw? Aswell as, what error do you get on using FBI to install something?
I followed everything on the guide, I've managed to fix the FBI error by going into settings > data management > 3DS > Softwares and a popup appeared telling me to erase all my save datas/games bc they got corrupted.
Now I just want to know if I can recover my save files from the SD card using a data recovery tool :/

Different recovery tools do different things and you will have to provide some more detail about exactly what you have been able to recover, what you have tried so far, and probably what specific games you are looking at. There was some discussion of this previously at https://gbatemp.net/threads/what-is-the-save-location.591771/#post-9534195 . (You did try to search a little before making your post, right..?)

In short, data that you've backed up using Checkpoint (or JKSM) can be very easily restored, but otherwise each game stores its save data in the same subfolder of "Nintendo 3DS" as the rest of the game data – except for some games that additionally use "extdata".

To be clear, you only formatted your SD card and you didn't do a "System Format" on your 3DS, right?

It sounds like the 3ds did a reformat with the sd card, with both games and saves lost. I think if i recall right, that a 3ds format that way makes all data impossible to restore in any way.

This definitely doesn't sound like a typical System Format to me, but then I don't think I've read about this particular message before:

In any case, this has come up before: if the unit has undergone a System Format and there's no backup of the encryption key (or a second unit that can be used to generate the encryption key), there's still https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-godmode9-scripts-megathread.482150/page-9#KEY_Y .

I only formatted my SD card on my computer after restoring some lost data, and fortunately I've managed to recover the "Nintendo 3DS" folder.
I'm now trying to restore my save files just by transfering the .sav files from the recovered data to the respective folders on my SD card, I'm not sure it's gonna work though.

Why not try it and find out?

As discussed in that thread that I linked to, there are a handful of games that use Anti Savegame Restore. After copying the .sav files for those games, you will need to back up the saves with Checkpoint and restore them again in order to circumvent the protection.

I'm trying right now! By this moment every game worked except for Minecraft, I'll try to do as you say and backup the save using checkpoint and restore it to see if it'll work!

Thanks for the help!
