You may be familiar with Square Enix’s Guardians of the Galaxy, coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X, but it is coming to switch as a cloud version.
The switch seems to be experiencing a rise in cloud games, many more are sure to come.

maybe this is a stupid question or I'm not understanding something, but isn't the main point of the switch to be able to play the system anywhere, not just a location close to a router or something?

That was the original point, but I guess Nintendo is terrified about the Steam Deck, and wants the Switch to run more demanding games, without paying for a Switch Pro.

some of these companies are just cheap. I think mega man legacy collections 1 and 2 saw a two cartridge release in Japan, but everywhere else got a digital code for the second series of games. I'm all digital, so it didn't bother me, but I can see how it could bother people. this was a nonissue with the ps4 version of the two part collection, which I think may have come on two discs.

The TV ads don't even say that the Switch version is a cloud version even.

And i was like, where's the physical release on Switch? Only to realize its a cloud version.

Haven't bought the game but the fact the TV ads don't mention that the Switch version is a digital cloud only release is false advertising

Pretty sure Nintendo are in no way terrified by the Steam Deck concidering the Switch has currently sold just shy of 90 million unites and rising. And the Steam Deck will be lucky to get 10 million in its life time.

Maybe I shouldn’t say “terrified”, but Nintendo has seen the capabilities of the Steam Deck, and want to match it without paying millions for an enhanced model

If that were true, we'd see a more powerful Switch system within the next year. All things considered, I don't see the Deck being a worthy competitor to the Switch because it doesn't have a way to utilize Nintendo's ecosystem. Even if it's gimped, it's just not the same on another system.

But there was streaming games on the Switch way before anyone knew about the Steam Deck. For instance Resident Evil 7 is available from the Japanese eshop and the Hitman game and Control ect. Since the Steam Deck was announced only 2 new Switch streaming games have been announced the Kingdom Hearts collection and Guardians of the Galaxy.

So again I would say the Switch having streaming games has nothing to do with the Steam Deck.

Deck will suport Gforce now, Xbox cloud, Stadia, Netflix,

It's funny how xbox cloud and stadia works very god to perfect on Switchroot and Cloudgaming on Switch from bad to poor. Even the wlan speed is on Switchroot the double like on Switch

The main point of the Wii was to get people off their asses and not just sit around mashing buttons hour after hour. Worked for about 70 million of us. The other 30 million wanted non-motion controlled (!!!) sequels to GC and N64 titles. So what difference does it make what the main point of the Switch was 4 years ago? And note that cloud games are certainly the future regardless of what people feel about physical ownership or their right to pirate games.
