I recently shell swapped my Switch Lite, and upon putting it back together, I've found that the speakers do not work, and when I try to change the volume, it shows that headphones are plugged in.

I've tried cleaning the headphone jack, taking the switch back apart and disconnecting and reconnecting the speakers and headphone jack from the motherboard, but nothing seems to make a difference.

Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be, or would be willing to make an educated guess?

Thanks,

Do headphones work?

Usually a metal tab (switch) makes contact when headphones are plugged in, and mutes the speakers.

If headphones work, then you have a faulty headphone jack.

Headphones do work. So I need to order a new jack on ebay or something?

My guess is that the headphone jack is worn out.

Normally, the contacts inside the jack create a closed loop, so that the audio is sent to the speakers.

When you plug your headphones in, the contacts become separated and the path to speakers is severed. Thus, you only have audio coming from your headphones.

If the contacts become worn out, they won't return to their original position and the connection to the speakers is gone.

The only other culprit is the ribbon cable and connectors. I don't think you've damaged them, because you are getting audio through the headphones.

Looks like you can get a replacement headphone jack board for around $10 on ebay.
