I'm trying to install a mod pack for New Super Mario Bros. U on OG hardware and not CEMU but when I try to open the game it just crashes with a DSI error. Do I need to downgrade my game and remove all DLC?

depends on which version the mod is for. I think the version.bin contains the latest versions of everything installed, so if you uninstall something, it will nag you about an update regardless.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

there's a way to hex edit the version.bin to force a lower version, but I'm not familiar enough with the file to know how to do that.

I'm also using SDCafiine and I think it's probably booting me out because I have the DLC version of New Super Luigi U

dlc is 5000c. I don't know if that would be the reason as I don't use rom hacks. what is the location in sdcaffeine? is it 50000 or 5000e?

that's the main game. it's possible luigi u has a title update which would be 5000e. I assume that's your issue, either the main game or the update is wrong.

not sure. the mod may be for a certain version of the game, either base game or an updated version, just like how it is with most other systems. I can see it crashing if the base game is wrong when you have an update. I think the folders are in the sys/title location on usb or mlc.
