And here comes the next dark theme - Red

Overall I'm pleased, but as you can see that issue I alluded to earlier is starting to rear its head with colors that venture too far from blue. There must be a way to make the blue part of these glows be another color, but I haven't yet found it, I'll continue to explore as I make more dark variation themes. For now, feel free to download this red theme as it is, and I'll try and have another one soon.

Dark Theme - Red Download

nice! though, I'm sticking with blue (playing the wii u right now in fact). I'll add the dark red theme to the repository. @MikaDubbz , did you post a link to that first dark theme you tried where it was really bright and didn't look right? I was going to add that to the repository as well.

this one: https://gbatemp.net/threads/share-and-download-custom-wii-u-themes.592318/page-4#post-9551675

and, the red theme has the corrected user color when switching users?

Nah, that was nowhere near finished enough for me to want to share it, think I worked over that file too so I don't have a copy of it at this time. It wouldn't be hard to recreate, and I will share exactly what parts of the file I've been altering too so that anyone can make their own theme. As it is, I have a rough spreadsheet I've been working from that makes it clear to me what I need to do, though it's not the most thoroughly explained at this point.

I'll share it here: Men.pack and Men2.pack feature locations

And if anyone wants to take a stab at their own theme with that info, have at it. I do intend to make it a bit more clear in the future, but it should be enough info for anyone to figure out what I was doing. And if you want to recreate that theme I discarded, all you gotta do is not remove the haze and glare effects, and just make the sky background black.

Yes, at this point, if there is anything new that I've done to the past themes it will carry on to future themes. That curved line is indeed red here as you'd expect.

Yes i love red! :)

reminds me of when I was going through the rco stuff on the ps3. very few people modding ps3 stuff back then, so I tackled it by myself (not sure if others were doing the same), so I made a short list of what certain things meant like labels and separators, etc. stuff like that. I downloaded your little spreadsheet. thanks for that.

Well I can't personally speak for the PS3, but as long as the Wii U remains as unique as it is, I will always have some sort of interest in it. And I may not be some true coder, but I'll always be happy to contribute to this scene where and when I can. My only wish is that this scene was more active, this system was so cool, and didn't get nearly the love it deserved, but in recent years, I've seen us fans outpour our love and support for the system, and that gives me hope. It may be officially done, but I see it living a long afterlife supported by dedicated fans, much in the same way that the likes of the Dreamcast or original Wii have all these years later.

well, I'm finally done with the ps3 scene bullshit. I was thinking about sending aldostools my ps3, since I sure don't play it, but that's off the table now after how psx place treated me. I will not share with them any info on ps4 exploits or how to do this or that with the system. first I lose my mod position, then my dev one, now privileges that anyone should have, I'm losing those too. and, to think I offered to send psx place money, that was a huge mistake.

That doesn't sound nice, is the forum bad?

@MikaDubbz , sorry for bringing this drama to your thread, but what happened yesterday upset me so much. I decided to sleep on it, just woke up at right now (4 a.m.). feel a bit better.

So I decided to churn out another one before calling it a night, realizing that if I go after the light blue/cyan theme, it'd probably be the easiest theme to make as I can reuse a lot of the effects already in the official theme as well as maintain a few changes I had already made in the purple theme. This will probably be the quickest of the themes I'll be able to make which is why I figured I'd get this one done real quick, and I'm very pleased with my quick job here.

Seems like this should have been the theme that all black Wii U's came with while the white Wii U's could keep the original theme lol. Anyway will probably do a Red variation on the dark theme next. But that one definitely wont drop until at least tomorrow. For now, download this link below (or on the first page).

Download Here
This is for American Wii Us, right?

I think it can be for any region except the title id is different. the one @MikaDubbz has in the download link is for American systems, yes. the op, I think has the title id for Europe and Japan. it should be the first title/whatever folder. the first folder under title tells you it's a system title of some sort 50010 iirc. the 10 says it's for the system.

added to the repository, just have it downloaded right now, but I'll add it to the appropriate folders later today:
