I'm using Windows Game Pass recently because I got a free trial with the purchase of a new computer. I've tried lots of different games and had a lot of fun with them. Then I decided to give Fallout 3 GOTY edition to try it. I have installed it 4 different times on 2 different drives and always does the same thing. I launch it from the Xbox App or desktop icon. The Fallout 3 launcher comes up and I can change setting and all but as soon as I press Play it does nothing. The instance in Task manager just disappears and it's like I never started it. Anyone have any solution that isn't try from another gaming service? Remember I'm using Game Pass because it's free for me right now.

i had a different issue basicly it wouldn't let me install anything but E-T games if you have that issue just log into your MS account on your browser and reinsert your DOB into your account it resets the restriction level

Not my specs.

Device name LAPTOP
Processor AMD Ryzen 7 4800H with Radeon Graphics 2.90 GHz
Installed RAM 8.00 GB (7.36 GB usable)
Device ID 8FE8DD97-88F3-4F9A-BFF0-D520BF698687
Product ID 00325-96685-84618-AAOEM
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display
Graphics Nvidia Geforce GTX 7600 Ti
And I've signed out of the app and the website both. Signing back in and trying again changes nothing.

Yeah, I would get Microsoft for this. It could be a random compatibility issue as well.

after a bit of research, the game pass version of fallout 3 is a complete waste of time, and it'd be better to just get the steam/gog version. biggest reasons being you can't install some of the most essential mods to make the game functional

fallout 3 is historically an extremely broken game when you play without mods

You didn't read my post sentence in my first post did you?

Make sure you disable antivirus or antimalware if possible. I had problems launching games with Malwarebytes running its active scan.
