OK, I have formatted my 256gb microsd card to Fat32, and took all the files from my smaller microsd card and copied them to the new drive, but when I put the newer drive into the switch to load rcm I get error Fatal error:[NXBOOT1] Failed to mount EmuMMC from SD card partition. What is wrong and how can I fix this?

You need to recreate your emuMMC partition on the new SD card if you want to be able to boot into your emuMMC.

First, you should be aware that you do not and cannot install CFW on the Switch. CFW is just a bunch of files on the SD card. Secondly, the firmware is irrelevant if your console is unpatched. The way to determine this is by trying to send a payload. All of that and how to setup CFW can be found in this guide.

I copied all the files from my old sd card to the new one, but it's the same
Again, you have to make an emuMMC partition on the new SD card.

Is it safe to play online with cfw and not get banned or still only for offline?
There's always a risk, but as long as you aren't installing pirated games, it's mostly safe.

I have been debating on updating my switch that is on 9.0.0 on sysNAND and emuMMC. I read that on the NH switch guide, updating from 9.0.0 to 12.0.2 would update the gamecard firmware also, making the slot unusable if downgraded. Here is where I got confused. Is it only talking about emuMMC downgrades, or will it affect sysNAND, making the gamecard slot unusable if I ever want to play on it on sysNAND 9.0.0? Or on the other hand, will the gamecard be rendered useless while on emuMMC on 12.0.0 until I update sysNAND to match the "gamecard firmware"?

Which save manager is reccomended? I tried to look for checkpoint, but it seems not up to date yet.
SciresM has released a patched version of Checkpoint for 0.19: https://github.com/SciresM/Checkpoint/releases/tag/ams-19-compat.

The gamecard slot firmware will be updated if you boot without CFW and insert a gamecard or boot with CFW while NOGC is disabled and inserting a gamecard. The switch update itself doesn't update the gamecard firmware if NOGC is enabled (by default in fusee primary and hekate). The gamecard firmware affects every NAND, doesn't matter if SysNAND or EmuMMC.

Hi,

I'm a Noob.

I have atmosphere running on my Switch and have installed a NSP via Awoo.
The game appears on my Homescreen menu, but when I click it, it tries to connect to the internet to check if I am allowed to play it, but of course, my wifi is off.
It tells me it cannot connect to the internet and will not open the game.

I am sorry for my noobishness. What am I missing?
Have I missed a step?
I updated my sigpatches. This did not fix the issue.

Thank you kindly

UPDATE: I installed it via Goldleaf ad now it works

I use fusee primary, which means i have NOGC on by default, so if i update with daybreak or any other homebrew application, the gamecard firmware will stay on 9.0.0 and still work on sysnand 9.0.0 correct? Also, if I plan to update my sysnand to the latest firmware (i have a first gen switch) it would not break any functions on the emummc on 9.0.0 correct?
