I am giving up on waiting for the clones to arrive at a reasonable price as I want a chip for my son’s birthday. Does anyone have a unit for sale?

(Fully regret delaying buying a unit last year when I had the chance!)

I'd try google.

I'd try google.
Yeah, making a plea post was far from my first choice. I have been a member of this forum since 2006 and never degraded myself like this before.

And despite my Google 10m Proficiency Badge, I didn't find anywhere with stock yet and my phone now contains random Chinese marketplace apps.

There are normally resellers on here, and there might still be a few units that people have. If anyone does, please DM me.

you can find some chips on xianyu / idlefish the prices are ok too. you could then import them via superbuy.

Thank you!

Here's a basic question for you, how are you searching on xianyu? I can see that one listing has "sxcore" (which I assume I missed by searching for "sx core" but are you searching using simplified Chinese characters?

Install the app, search "hwfly"
Copy the link to the product you want and paste it to the superbuy search field.
Order it over superbuy.

Given the legal darkgrey-area 'those' are now a part of:

Wouldn't it be better to go bargain hunting for Switchgames, especially considering how pricey these chips are.

SXOSnis pretty much done for, atmo support: Questionable (?)

I'd go with games or a V1.
Even a PC with Yuzu seems like a better choice than a chip at this point.

----Bottomline---

Especially after dealing with a V1 Switch and some update cycles:
The hassle seems not to be worth it (especially if it's meant for a kid)
Also take into the consideration of getting the switch banned
(in the DS and partially 3DS days Ninty wasn't so hardcore...)
