Hacking Disabling the announcer in Mario Kart GP 2?

After searching a bit I found a patch that you can apply using a hex editor. The patch is 0x801B6510 0x38800000, but I cannot seem to find the right offset, the closest one I can find is 0801B650, but I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, as I'm not very knowledgeable in hex editing. Or if someone knows of a patch that can be applied as a cheat with Nintendont that would be great.

Why would you want to? The announcer is the coolest part of GP. I wish they hire one for the the mainline Mariokart games.

100% agree with this he is awesome and the way he says banana always makes me laugh.

It's not that he's bad or anything, but he speaks whenever you throw an item, when you hit someone with said item, and also when you miss, so he'll be speaking a lot during each race and it can get annoying after a while.

Thank you very much, I wasn't seeing that screen because I hadn't created a save file yet.
