Hey,
just wanted to let you know about the delay. I think it's best not to release a new version for the moment, the main problem being the original source code not being easily accessible for the moment. I think it would beneficial to the original project to do such a release when the DMCA situation is resolved (I'm positive it'll return; without saying much, there's been positive developments on the DMCA situation). In the meantime I've been doing some small features targeted for the switch (better audio decoding with opus, CPU Boost on loading times like retail games do, etc.).

While the main team's situation looks good, my personal individual efforts contacting GitHub about the DMCA situation have been nothing near good. I've made a simple request for an unredacted version of the DMCA (which they offer to provide to "any (affected) party"), but GitHub has ignored this for now a half month. I even noticed they even changed the "last updated" time to "4 days ago" 7 days after I sent it, which probably means they took a look to it 3 days after I sent the request, but didn't bother to respond. This means I can't even properly contact the author of the DMCA. How I'm I supposed to deal with the situation if they refuse to follow up with me? I made a tweet about it a while ago, hopefully it doesn't just rot in there without being read. A few retweets/comments might help.

Anyways, do look forward to updates when all of this is over!

Glad to know this is still being worked on, you don't really have to rush either, it's not like there's any shortage of games on the Switch anyway. Whenever you do release it be sure to spread it like the plague, just in case TakeTwo gets that DMCA itch

Do you have to use GitHub, rather than some other platform? Starting to fear we won't see a proper build for switch ever, which would be such a shame considering all the progress and effort that went into the whole endeavor. You guys are doing a great job and bring back some nostalgic tears :D

Not really. They can just set up their own site and their own git server.

But in this case, we have a better sollution- DMCA could be countered. Copyrighted materials should be supplied by users themselves, and the code was reverse-engineered by community, rebuilt from the decompiled code.

also, keep in mind that getting DMCA'd doesn't mean the source code is long gone. Most likely, devs or any contributors would have a local copy of repository in their workspace, where it's safe from Cockstar's dirty hands.

If somebody has the latest version 1.1 .NRO files for GTA3 and GTAVC, could you please tell me the file size in Kilobytes? I have 2 versions of each and I'm not sure which ones are the 1.1 versions

Epic man, really stoked to see this. Im sure everyone really appreciates your contribution here.

Do you know of any gameplay videos for the pc version? I tried searching but couldn't find any because of the generic name of the project.

Also, a small suggestion - Could you use human-readable versions for your releases moving forward? This one is 23092020-8dbc424 which is a bit hard to read/understand.
Thats human readable. Its date. 23/09/2020-(build hash)

Well, this is how github works. Original authors were aware of it and they are ready to wait several months until this will be concluded. That's why they were asking if there is no better way than appealing.
