Question Necrobumping - why is it so frowned upon?

I tried to search for "shovelware" on the forums, and while reading one of the threads, I found a mod advertising in their signature. So I posted, not realizing the last post was 8 years ago, about why are they signature advertising. 2 minutes later, all my posts get deleted and the thread gets locked. I have not been restricted, but IDK why is necrobumping such a taboo.

Most likely you posted nothing relevant, so it got locked.

Necrobumps barely get noticed and it's best to just open up a new thread.

Ok, but what does it mean when it says "warnings will be in place for 6 months to a year"? I think it had been a year since my only warning has been issued, and it is still in place.

That warn on your account was issued on the 1st of November 2020.
We leave them in place for 6 months till a year before we lower it, members that beg their warn level to be lowered will be ignored and can wait even longer.

Members that have years old warnings can contact staff and ask about warn lowering at anytime.
Mind you that the decision is up to staff and depending on the severity of the warn, it might never get lowered.
