Hi

I updated firmare in December thinking it was 11.0 and i got 11.01
Waited for SXOS to update support for 11.01 and still waiting :(

So i have a NAND backup i did a year or two back through the SXOS and i wondered is it safe to recover the switch through the SXOS recovery to get it working again?

I'm not too familiar with the ins and outs of fuses being burnt. But I'm sure if you update via the official Nintendo way. That's it, you can't go back. But since the update is so small between 11 and 11.01. I'm not sure if your able to backtrack to 11.

Why don't you switch to Atmosphere? That supports 11.01. You can place a modified boot file on the root of your SD card to get your SX dongle to load directly into Hekate. Emunand helps decrease the chances of a ban too. Also, NSP's and Tinfoil are superior to XCI. Less in size and no messing around with the album to load your backups.

Thanks for replying, i really dont like the idea of doing the recovery of the old backup, so switching to Atmposhere seems the way to go. its just a lot of reasearch needed to figure it all out. I did my research back in the day with SXOS and ive got so used it it ,its hard to change but change seems to enivitable thanks to the lack of even a "please wait" from Team Ex, their complete and utter silence means it looks to be the end of sxos

So with that said i will give Atmosphere a go, so can i use the same micro SD and delete everything but my Nintendo and Switch folders? or do i need to format the SD card, boot into normal fimrware and let it do its thing and then install Atmosphere from scratch?

Also with sxos i have been spoilled in terms of no fuss support for nsp and xci. With Atmosphere it does not look that straight forwards, im reading things about sig patches, i have a bunch of nsp files on my computer but none of them have sig patches, they were not with the nsp files when i got them so im not sure where to get those and im also not sure what other software i need other than Atmosphere to get them to run?

thanks

You don't need to delete anything related to SX OS. Just add the Atmosphere files and folders, add the proper signature patches, and then boot the system using fusee-primary using your favorite way to launch payloads. Atmosphere is easy to use if you do these things. You can't use XCI files (unless you install them like NSP files), but you can install NSP files just fine.

If you are attached to SX OS, you can downgrade to 11.0.0 using Daybreak while running Atmosphere. Since 11.0.1 was a minor update, it should be an easy downgrade without the need to revert anything. There was also no difference in fuse counts between 11.0.0 and 11.0.1. This would only be a temporary solution, since it's looking increasingly likely that SX OS isn't getting anymore updates, and newer games are going to require system versions newer than 11.0.0 eventually with no way to bypass it (i.e. The newer games are going to be built using newer software development kits).

Hi
I have managed to install Atmosphere with the signature patches for Fusee, Tinfoil and managed to install a NSP file and it works

So my next step is i used a dongle (R4 type) which used to have the sxos payload on it and i set my sxos to auto RCM
So when i turned off the switch i could turn it back on with the dongle in and sxos would load

I dont see a way of doing that with Fusee, i noticed there are sig pathces for Hekate, so would you know if its possible to achive the same setup i had before with hakate? i can load a new payload to my dongle i would just need to know if hakate can chain load atmosphere and enable auto RCM, If that makes sense

You can. See here - https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-boot-hekate-using-sx-os-pro-dongle-or-windows-pc.507619/

You can just follow the same setup but instead of Hekate, set the initial payload as fusee_primary.
