And yes, I know NTR CFW exists, but I want to be able to capture my DS games as well.

your looking at eithers hundreds for someone to make and finding someones going to be a pain. or 1000s for a premodded one on ebay

so it just makes sense for me to buy a old 3ds w/ modding? Does not having the new processor matter? (99% sure I found a guy selling them for around $450 atm)

If you want N3DS exclusive then you would need a model with the newer CPU, $450 isn't a bad price for what it is worth, I bought a N3DS XL one for $600 with the capture card last year. Do keep in mind you need to know serial key as they are not burned into the older unit, as they are into the newer unit just in case you lost you key.
