Is it possible to install an official update pkg on fpkg base game in order to later dump that update ?

Nope.

In order to dump updates you must own the original disc or PSN app.

official pkg is paired and signed with keys, hence why they need dumping and decrypting before FPKG’ing.

the bad thing is that you can only have the fpkg or official pkg or retail disc tile on the home menu at one time. if you try putting the disc in the machine again, it will delete the fpkg or rather it will mention there's a duplicate and force you to delete it.

^^ yes yes, i know that, sooo there is no way to avoid that extra job with fpkd delete in order to only obtain a dump of an update ?

Also, just wanted to know if from 6.72 we can install official update for 7.02 with the firmware spoof to 7.02 ?

there's no way. plus, I think deleting the tile also deletes dlc from what I remember. it at least did with star ocean 5 for me.

can't. the spoof will do nothing, because the system needs the correct keys to decrypt the content, which requires updating.

@godreborn see how some games for 7.02 works directly on 6.72. I guessing if same happen for certain updates.... ?
example, fallout 1.34 update is for 7.00. What i wanted to is to install it on 6.72, dump that update, and use it on 6.72 as fpkg..... think about ?

If it was that easy, don't you think spoofed updates would be widely available already?

final fantasy vii remake only requires 6.50, but to dump the game, you need to be on 7.02. that's why a backport isn't needed on 6.72, but the game can't be dumped on there. when you dump a game or a patch, part of it says "decrypting selfs." the eboot.bin is a self file and the most important one. it's the main executable and has been even on the ps3.
