Hello,

Sorry if the question has already be answered, i made a search but the posts was a bit old. My Switch sleeps for a long time now and i'm not aware of the latest news.

I've a clean backup with 4.1 firmware version. I would like to restore it and make a clean emunand, and upgrade it to the latest firmware version.
The purpose is go online with a firmware up to date to play legit games, no warez.

I know that it's impossible to be sure to not be banned, but is the risk is high ?

Restore the clean NAND backup and go online with SysNAND. Update with the official method.
Note: If you have played more games after NAND backup your save data will probably go back to where it was when you got the NAND backup.

Create an emuNAND and use it only for homebrew stuff and be offline, you can setup 90DNS, incognito.

Which exploit did you use to hack your switch? Fusee or Caffeine. This can be important

I'm somewhat the same situation. My 6.2 CFW is dirty (never online) and I'm running 10.1 on emummc. When I restore my clean 6.2 nand and upgrade to the latest firmware, can I still use my current emummc? Or do I have to make a fresh emummc?
Reason: My kart needs internet...

Yes, you can still use the same emuMMC. Restore the Nand, and then update to the latest firmware with the official method.
NOTE: Don't forget to update atmo/ Hekate/ Sx OS too.

Doesn't it just need wifi? So you can use 90DNS?

You can have both a clean updated emuMMC and a hacked emuMMC. Keep your sysnand on 4.1

You can go online with emuMMC as long as you never run any homebrew on it.

In my case, I have a patched unit. SysNAND was only used to create the backup and for caffeine. I now have 2 EmuNANDs, one for running homebrew and one for online play. So far and after many months of use, it is still working fine.
