Hello @cy33hc , good to see that you are going to add access to roms for Retroarch and PSP/PS1 eboot games directly from the Launcher without having to create new bubbles, it will be very convenient so to open any game from an all-in-one app, which It also saves space for those with little storage, as the every custom bubbles occupy about 2mb. Bravo!

I wonder what can be done to not show duplicate items for those games for which we have already created bubbles with ABM, will it be necessary to delete them from the LiveArea / ABM?

... Do you think you can incorporate something of what I asked in my previous post? I am especially interested in knowing if it would be possible for the launcher to remain in the background as a system app

Seeing that you plan to incorporate the direct access to roms that will be executed with Retroarch, it would be very convenient if you could link an option to show the "Favorites" default list of Retroarch on the Laucher. ( Stored at ux0:data/retroarch/content_favorites.lpl )

Additionally, I wonder if it can be achieved that those "RA ROMs games" to show as their icon the thumbnail that RA downloads for each ROM from its database, ideally the title screen ones, (stored by default on ux0:data/retroarch/thumbnails/**plataform**/Named_Titles) which would also allow to recycle and take advantage of the available resources.

I hope I don't sound pretentious, these are just ideas, thanks again for everything done!

Those are good ideas about the retro icons. As for the app running in the background, that's something that can be looked into later. I just start coding in vita, so still alot for me to learn.

Wow, even if you are learning to do things for the Vita, you are already showing off! Bravo for all these new cool features and for taking the time to make explanatory videos for the users, thank you very much! :bow:

according to google search : 0x80101104 = trying to install a VPK that has a corrupted entry in the vita db (edit ur0:/shell/db/app.db to get rid of it

I got same error. I usually just replaced the files in the folder and didn't try installing via vpk. I get it fixed.

The VPK is fixed now. I reuploaded the VPK. I messed up the version string while building the VPK.

@cy33hc

thanks very much for the update, i'm not sure how i can add gba,ps1,md..etc games i have edited the config.ini & changed the roms path but nothing is happening ? is it because all of my roms are in ZIP format ? or maybe too many zip files ? or because other files like save.bios files are in some of the rom folders ? also ps1 games not showing is this because they're in PBP format & named as eboots ?

also Rescan causes the app to crash !!

Can you try 1 ROM type at a time and see which folder is causing the crash when scanning. It might be some filename is too long.

max filename length is around 120 chars. And maybe upload your config.ini file too.

thanks for the advice,i did what you said & started only with NES & it's scanning OK so it maybe long file names that causing scan to fail or the fact that i have .gb & .gbc roms inside the GBA folder (maybe this folder should only contain the gba zip files & not ,gb & ,gbc too) ?

Yep. If you mix roms inside same folders, the core used will be the wrong one. And best to don't mixed save files in the roms folder, it's probably mistaken it for a ROM.

@cy33hc

by the way the PS Mobile games do not have images just blank icons !!
That's right. Just add ability to boot those games now. It's icons aren't in the standard folder so I have to dig around to see where it's being stored. Will add icons later. Trying to get core functions working first. Will deal with aesthetics later.

I will make the scaning of roms a bit smarter too. Currently I'm expecting that all roms in a particular folder is of the same kind.

@cy33hc

thanks very much for this great app.apart from Ps Mobile images missing i have another request but i'm not sure if this is even possible,my PS1 games are in this format below so will you be able to make them work on your launcher, i'm thinking even if Eboot.PBP can be shown on your Launcher how can the thumbnails be assigned to them ? they need to be assigned to the folder's name as all games are called Eboot.PBP !?

example:

PS1/Crashbandicoot/Eboot.PBP
PS1/Bust A Move/Eboot.PBP

EBOOT.PBP will be handled after I have implemented booting Adernaline games directly.

@cy33hc

any chance you can add an option where we can add more emulators,i have edited the config.ini to try to add few emulators but this didn't work.

example:

[Atari2600]
view_mode=0
title_id_prefixes=Atari2600
icon_path=ux0:data/retroarch/thumbnails/Atari - 2600/Named_Boxarts
roms_path=ux0:roms/Atari - 2600
rom_launcher_title_id=RETROVITA
retro_core=app0:stella2014_libretro.self

Glad you figured out the issue with GBA. Is it some corrupted icon in the folder?

I did not add Atari category. That's few that I though people wouldn't have, but I can add it, it's easy.

Also I'm implementing the file filters while scanning the roms so I don't pick up garbage files. Do you know of all the ROM's and it's file extension. I don't play with some retro titles so I'm not familiar with the file ext. Is there wiki somewhere with that info?

Also my work on Adrenaline is working. I will release tonight. Just PSP ISO icons will be missing since I don't know how to extract them from ISO yet. EBOOT.PBP icons are ok.

i'm not sure if there is corrupt icons but once i moved the icons folder outside of the rom folder scanning did not crash the app !!

there is much more than just Atari 2600 i think it's best if you can make away for the user to add & customize the setup similar to how Retroarch is.

i can give you all the file extensions for the roms,however 24 out of 27 emulators i use their roms are in zip format !!

it would be great if you can add this filter as the scanning does pickup everything inside the roms folders like save files..etc & it's a headache to deal with. so filters is a must feature

most of my PSP stuff are in Eboot format include PSP Minis but i do have around 30 PSP CSO's which are compressed ISO's inc the likes of GTA's games. hopefully you can find away to extract the icons.
