Warning:
Please do this at your own risk. I’m not forcing you to, but if you do; report back on this post or on the Video, if it worked for you or not.

Just thought that I'd share this with the PS3 Jailbreak Community. It was an interesting experiment.

I've discovered something with the help of a viewer from one of My Videos and decided to put it to the test. Turns out that it worked, but I need more people to try it out for themselves, so that I can confirm it works for everyone. Please Read the Description/Pinned Comment before proceeding with the Tutorial. Thanks!

Edit:
I noticed that the Latest Rebug CFW (4.86.1 LITE) and Rebug 4.85.1 LITE have this Feature, but I'm using Rebug 4.84.2 D-REX in the Video and most of us know that it doesn't have this. Just wanted to let you all know in case you didn't.

I can see a couple problems with this tutorial. the xregistry.sys from one system shouldn't be used on another. for one thing, it contains the serial number of the internal hdd. it may force a format of the drive if a different serial number is detected. it also contains psn information (including passwords), account ids, emails, and general settings information. this sounds like high ban risk.

also, I don't understand how the system is going to be able to decrypt the licenses. licenses require the act.dat, which would be related to the xregistry, and the idps. the idps is console specific. also, the idps has a byte difference between cex and dex. I don't understand how the licenses are going to work without the idps being the same on all systems.

I used the same xRegistry.sys File on a few Systems and it didn't affect anything. I made sure that it didn't contain any of the following you've mentioned. I Restored the PS3 to its Default Settings and set the "NP Environment" to "np", then Backed it up. (Refers to the "xRegistry.sys" File) There's nothing else that's altered in the Settings. Did you see the Video? Did you Read the Description/Pinned Comment? The License will correspond to the CID of the End User. I just never got to try this on those Systems and this Tutorial was recently discovered. I only got one System at the moment.

I watched most of the video. it looks pretty dangerous with a high ban risk. I saw nothing regarding the license other than copying and pasting the exdata folder. I don't understand how that would cover the idps if that's all you're doing. if you try creating a rif on the pc, it requires the act.dat (account specific) and idps (console specific). I can see how you could spoof an account but not the console by copying and pasting. if this is like account sharing, then it seems like there would be a high degree of ban risk. people tried this on the 360 where you have to be signed in if device id is different using the same profile and they were banned eventually. iirc, the idps is in the eid0 (encrypting individual data I believe is what that stands for), so it's not on the hdd, so I don't get it.

Basically what’s being transferred from the USB to PS3, contains what you’re referring to. The Name of that User is called “Anti-Sony”. I wrote down the “Timeframe/Notes” in the Pinned Comment. You’ll never know until you try it. I was amazed by it and it was an interesting experiment. It’s what I’m using to Download/Install Games from PKGi. The .RAP Files automatically Generate to .RIF Files and I can confirm that they’re working. I literally showed it in the Video, but I can’t guarantee that it works for everyone, so that’s why I decided to share this discovery to see, if anyone wants to try it out for themselves. I’m doing this on Rebug 4.84.2 D-REX which doesn’t have that “On The Fly” Feature from PS3HEN or from Rebug 4.85.1/4.86.1 LITE.

Edit:
Trust me; I tried using a PSN Account with this Method, but it doesn’t work. Reason for that is, because the System would still Require an Activation from a PSN Account. However this Method doesn’t.

the only thing I can think of is that the idps is being used when you click on the game, then it errors (possibly for already having the game and rif file). I have nearly the entire psn database on my laptop (licenses), but I've only downloaded the games I plan to play. that's about 16,000-17,000 raps. it should cover almost every download you could find.

I know, but some people have their preferences. I prefer to Download/Install a Game along with its own .RAP File, if provided. (Not the entire Pack, which would be useless, if the Game didn’t work) I have no reason to Install so many, because what if the Game/.RAP File doesn’t work? You’ll have to Delete them and try another Game. I also use a Laptop to do this (here and there) and I used to use a USB/FTP a lot before, but I’d rather Download/Install it straight from the PS3; thanks to the Developer of PKGi. It’ll be useful in a way, but useless at the same time. (Refers to the 16-17k .RAP Files) It’s all about preference and I understand what you mean.

Never tried pkgi on the ps3. I use nopaystation. I have all the games I care about and I only installed those licenses. My entire collection, about 50 games, is on a 1tb internal hdd. I don't use an external with the ps3.

I used to use NPS Browser before, especially PSNStuff, but I ended up using PKGi, because it just Downloads/Installs Games straight to the PS3. Plus I don't have a USB with enough storage to transfer into the USB and I know that's what FTP can be used for (Refers to transferring 4GB+ Games), but I no longer have to worry about using a USB/FTP to transfer Games from PC to PS3 or from PC to USB, then to PS3, because PKGi does that part for me without an Issue.

Update:
I have about 3 people confirming that this New Method worked for them on CFW.
