it's functional. I don't have an exploited switch, so there's no way for me to test anything. I was just trying to convert switch to nintendont, which the other way around would probably be easy to do if we could figure out the saves. by the time we do, someone will probably already have a 120 shine save. the save begins where it says "save data" in ascii.

I might be able to try out the switch save if youre able to hex it properly. If you feel like it up here and I'll be sure to give results. im hoping the bit after it says "save data" is compatible with both and the weird text and such with the switch save not saying "Sunshine" properly is just a quirk with the switch memory card header

dunno. when I was changing the region for a wii save for someone on here, I decompressed the save (already knew the save slots were listed one after the other), but there was a small section after each bin file that wasn't part of the save slot. the switch and wii save you sent me were decompressed. I was able to install successfully, but the switch save showed up as corrupt. that's when I looked at it in hex. they're similar. some entire sections are the same except the bytes are offshifted. I don't know if that means anything.

The Switch save should be corrupt on a wii as Galaxy was recompiled for Switch and as a result had a change of endianess for most of the files and such. if we can determine whats different and what isnt between saves it should let us hopefully make editing saves easier

Do y'all have any luck to get Sunshine and Galaxy save works?

I got some save to work. it had 120 shines in slot 1, 3 in slot 2, and a new game in slot 3. I think that might've been the gamefaqs save. I've since reinjected my old saves back. the cube save was easy through hexing, but I never managed to get the galaxy save to work.

Nice, can I have save file to test on my Switch, please?

Did you cross reference the Wiibrew post about galaxys save? that's what I tried to do but i couldn't really make my way around it

I hope that someone more tries to convert saves between consoles.

A good tutorial and confirmation would be nice. Or a little tool to do it to both sides on the best of the cases.

Same here, we got good success with N64 save but awaiting for Sunshine and Galaxy.

it may be quite difficult to figure out the saves. I wish I could help further, but without a switch to test it on, it would be a waste of time. you're probably better off waiting for a 100% save(s) on the actual game. I'm only at 17 in mario 64, 16 in sunshine (it says yoshi in the title of the shine yet I can't find yoshi. I can find the shine, but it looks like yoshi has to eat some sort of gelatin to get to it). and, I'm at 34 in galaxy. galaxy isn't too bad to go through again. it's much easier than sunshine from what I remember. those puzzle rooms without fludd can be a nightmare in sunshine.

Are the saves per game separated when dump?
If so, I can offer my Galaxy 100% save file I just finished, and I'm looking for a SM64 100% save file.
Sunshine I'll 100% myself since it's the favorite of the three.

Yes, it is separate.

Super Mario 64 and Sunshine use .sav format.

Super Mario Galaxy use GameData.bin

Good news - there is 100% Super Mario 64 save - https://gbatemp.net/threads/mario-3d-all-stars-save.573965/ (thanks to OP for upload this)

GameData.bin is a decompressed save for that game. it's just missing the banner like a normal wii save. it's exactly the same size as a decompressed galaxy save from the wii minus the banner.

Is it possible to convert Sunshine from Gamecubue that found on gamefaq to .sav format? Is editing needed? What kind of stuffs that need to be edited?

I'd sooner buy the Meze 109 Pro if I was dropping that much on headphones. I don't even like buds/IEMs
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I got the Google Pixel Pro buds, they're good enough for when I need portable audio. And some really cheap IEMs that Dankpods recommends, I think the KZ ZSN Pro

I'd stick with cheapo Chinese $10 ones quality is actually becoming on pair with name brand since name Brand usually quads the price up anyway loose one bud that's another $200
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
My Pixel Pro buds shit the bed a month or two ago. My wireless charger (which they do support Qi charging) absolutely COOKED them. Caused some problem that caused the case to heat up to 180F+
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
They were like 9 months out of warranty but I hit up Google support anyway and told them how hot they were getting and they replaced them with new ones because they wanted these for failure analysis lol

    lol wireless charging
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why I can't bring myself to even spend $100 on wireless earbuds
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it's a cool idea but damn
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Apparently the case has a problem with >15W wireless chargers. Google design fault, that one.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I could live with wireless charging if the damn standard case doesn't block connection
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    how is wireless charging possible?

    Copper conducting electricity or something
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@Xdqwerty, power through a coil of wire causes an electromagnetic field to be generated. Another coil of wire can be set up to harness the power from that electromagnetic field and turn it into usable energy for charging a device

Two good videos from ElectroBOOM that touch on the subject:

@Sicklyboy, i think wire chargers are more practical

but im too stupid to know

Wired is better for faster charge but if you just leave it all night while you sleep it's good
