So am I good to go and play completely online?
Hey OP, it seems you are looking for a 3ds and putting custom firmware on it. If that's the case, i'd recommend watching some youtube videos if you are unsure about getting a 3ds with CFW. All of your questions in these two pages are common questions that most if not all cfw 3ds videos cover. The 3ds scene isn't very nice to people who don't look things up themselves. We are not google, we even have a sticky thread on this forum site with the kind of questions. I hope these tips help man. Go watch some videos.

So, everyone, is there actually a method for using Poké Bank with a NDS game like Pokemon Soul Silver (what OP asked)?

I thought it only worked for 3DS Pokémon games, since NDS games run via forwarders/TWLoader.

It would be great if someone could post a link to this method.

there's a way to use pokebank with pirated copies of DS games? man i'm out of the loop, i thought you could only use the transfer app with legit copies since it only looks at what game is in the cart slot

he said soulsilver, soulsilver is a ds, not a 3ds game

Someone gets it.

Pokemon Bank lets you download Pokemon Transporter, but Pokemon Transporter only works with Gen V (Black/White/Black2/White2) and the Virtual Console releases of Gen I and II. It will never work with SoulSilver, pirated or otherwise.

Getting Pokemon out of SoulSilver will require either transferring them via a Gen V game, or using PKSM.

I bought a new 3DS XL brand new very recently too and am new to Nintendo environment, had similar questions because I was planning to use R4 for NDS Pokémon games and Sky3DS+ for 3DS games without hacking my device because the prices of actual cartridges are skyrocketed due to their rarity. So thought I'll stick to buying only accessible Nintendo select titles physically. Seeing the question thoroughly answered in this thread, I am assuming I'm cool with transferring Pokémon from NDS games to 3DS games and then to Pokémon bank and then to my Pokémon Home.

You can hack the system and pretty much not have to worry about anything. As long as you don't cheat online, you should be perfectly fine.

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
