hi,

I had a i5-3470 + 16gb ddr3 + gtx 1060, mario in yuzu ran with around 15-20 fps, cemu most games 60 fps.
I had an opportunity to sell my computer and get a new one with little extra money.

now I got a ryzen 5 2600 + 16gb ddr4 3000 + rx 580. mario runs with 2 fps, cemu with 40-50 fps most of the time, I really didn't expect that. normal games seems to run fine.
is this supposed to run this bad or is anything wrong? had a clean win10 install + newest driver.

I believe AMD -carda are still not fully supported which would be the issue at hand.
The CPU being subpar for this kind of emulation isn't the best either but it shouldn't be worse than your old i5. That being said a newer Intel CPU would have been better for cemu/yuzu as their chips achieve higher clocks both out of the box and when overclocked :)

Wow that's some dumb ass comments.

The R5 2600 destroys the i5 3470 in every way imaginable.

Also the RX 580 is on par with the GTX 1060 (even the GTX 1060 6GB version)

The one and only problem here is Nintendo natively use OpenGL which is amazing on nVidia but sucks to high heaven on AMD cards.

You need to select Vulkan over OpenGL on ALL AMD cards and OpenGL on ALL nVidia cards.

Im just glad there are dedicated discord groups that provide leaked EA builds. They have gotten better since after this thread was posted. But still can't play pre rendered scenes unfortunately. Im not sure why the devs bother with a public build since its inferior to EA. Thats usually the main culprit in limited performance for 1st timers.

since I made this post all emulators improved big time. cemu runs perfect, yuzu much better but many things still are unplayable. I hope this continues, my next gpu will be a rdna2 one. I think going amd with gcn helped a lot in playing bad optimized pc ports, but those still ran better on amd because they were both gcn like the ps4.

AMD CPU Pros
- Lower TDP
- More Cores
- More Threads
- Higher Single Core Performance [Important for games]
- Insanely higher Multi Core [Important for multiply Programmes at once/heavy hitting applications]
- Way newer
- Better architecture
- Better L1-L3 Cache
- uses DDR4

Cons
- no integrated iGPU

Intel Pros
- has iGPU

Cons
- everything else

And GPU wise it is only a 2% difference for the 1060 6GB, otherwise the 3GB version of the 1060 is even 11% slower then the rx 580.

But yet we got Bigbrained Bobs with stuff like this.

"tHe dOwNgRaDe tO An aMd cHiP CoUlD HaVe bEeN WhAt tOoK ThE PeRfOrMaNcE DiVe."

Have you tried the latest canary build of Yuzu? The downgrade to an AMD chip could have been what took the performance dive.
You joking with this shit? He downgraded? From a 3rd Gen Ivy Bridge (circa 2012) to a Zen+ 2600? How is THAT a downgrade? What...

Should have read the date, my bad. Point still stands though.

The early access pull requests also often don't work together nicely when compiling so stuff has to be left out.
I guess they also don't care at all if people are capable of compiling things as they don't pay up then.
I can't imagine that an external contributor who is genuinely interested in improving the emulator is okay with his own work only being accessible beyond a paywall, cemu is miles better at handling this and they are closed source.
