Ok, so first of all, I am not entirely sure if this post belongs to the Wii or Wii U section, but here it goes.

I'm trying to make my fake Wii U Pro Controllers (4, bought from gearbest) - from now on referred as WUPC - work on GC games loaded thru Nintendont on vWii (Inception much?)
I've read a lot about how it was supposed to work but mine just dont seem to follow.

From what Ive read, I am supposed to sync the controllers to the Wii U while on vWii menu (the one with the channels). The blue leds are supposed to blink a number of times and then turn off, and when I open a GC title thru Nintendont it should automatically sync when I press any button.

Okay, heres what I have already tried:

- The procedure I described above.
Result: Instead of blinking on the vWii menu, the blue led on the WUPCs light up, one in each controller, as if it were synced, just like wiimotes do. I am able to "sync" all four of them, but since I need the wiimote to actually click on Nintendont channel, I do only sync three. When I click on Nintendont the screen goes black and all the Leds turn off. The Nintendont menu then comes up and when I press any button on the WUPC, they act as if they were never synced, and the Leds just remain blinking. The wiimote works fine on the Nintendonts menu and the games load just fine.

- Using a mayflash WUPC to PC adapter on Nintendont
Result: With this one I got a little more success. All the WUPC sync fine with the mayflash adapter set to digital input and attached to one of the front usb ports on the Wii U, but when I open Nintendont only the P1 is able to controle the menus. Same things happen in game. The other WUPCs just dont do anything despite having the correct blue led lit.

- Using the WUPCs on regular Wii U games
Result: Work just fine

- Using the WUPCs on PC thru mayflash adapter
Result: All of them working fine.

Now I am out of ideas on what to try! I really hope some kind soul could enlighten me with knowledge ^_^

I finally got it to work flawlessly. I'll be leaving the info here in case someone has the same problem.

I downloaded Nintendon from this website https://wiidatabase.de/wii-u-vwii-downloads/hacks/nintendont-gamecube-spiele/ (not sure if I can post links, if not tell me and I'll edit this post, maybe include a zip with the file). It was version 5.483 and came with two folders: one named controllers that I put in the root of my sd card and one named apps with the Nintendont files that goes in the apps folder just as usual.

Now the tricky part: inside the controllers folder I changed the file named 0079_1800.ini (or something like that, its the one regarding the mayflash wii u pro adapter) to the values listed below. It was mostly trial and error.

[Mayflash WiiU Pro Controller Adapter Editado - W009]
VID=0079
PID=1800
Polltype=1
MultiIn=2
MultiInValue=01
DPAD=1
DigitalLR=1
A=1,04
B=1,02
X=1,08
Y=1,01
Z=1,20
L=1,40
R=1,80
Power=2,01
S=2,02
Left=7,06
Down=7,04
Right=7,02
Up=7,00
RightUp=7,01
DownRight=7,03
DownLeft=7,05
UpLeft=7,07
StickX=3
StickY=4
CStickX=5
CStickY=6
LAnalog=0
RAnalog=0

And done! Now each one of the WUPC controls a player individually and at the same time!

Cheers!

I’m trying to use an official Wii U Pro Controller. Do I need to paste those values still?

wiiu pro controlller is a wireless bt only controller, it doesnt work through usb so no values or config can be made... as long as its synced on wiiu main menu before entering in nintendont all you need is press A on hit to work.

Do I need to have Mayflash WUPC to PC adapter? How do you make an configure file for Nintendon't, I'm planning to use my Mayflash Magic NS and SPro adapter to work on Gamecube inject games since like you said, it doesn't work with fake WUPC.

Follow this video if you have the original one.

why buy a mayflash adapter to use a fake wup controller? lol makes no sence, and the mayflash adapter might even be imcompatible with fake wupc even, just buy an official one.

Like I said earlier, fake WUPC won't work on Nintendont so lasry use a workaround by using an adapter.
I can't buy since WUPC are now phased out and I've already have 2 controllers... guess I'll find a tutorial on how to make your own configure file for Nintendont.

cmon you can buy legit wupc used on ebay or amazon, probably will cost as much as the adapter.
Also if the adapter turns wiiupro into a hid controller, it means it will only work for one since nintendont only supports one hid at a time connected.

I'm in the same boat, bought a fake Wii U pro controller because the official ones are waaaay too expensive. It works fine on Wii U games, but I have the same behaviour as OP in vWii. Is it only possible to use it in Nintendont if I get a Mayflash adapter?

I am also experiencing the same issue; Official Wii U Pro Controller syncs in Wii U and vWii menu normally. Controller also syncs following Haxchi launch.

The moment I launch nintendont either via Wii U menu forwarder, HBL2HCL, vWii nintendont forwarder or vWii homebrew channel, it does not work. Controller simply blinks and times out in nintendont (and all vWii homebrew for that matter).

I am testing with the following environment;
  • Two official Wii U Pro controllers MODEL: WUP-005.
  • Nintendo Wii U console on firmware 5.5.4 E.
  • Haxchi.
  • FIX94's nintendont v6.489.
  • Dimok's usbloader gx v3.0 r1272.
  • 200 GB sandisk SD card.
  • open homebrew channel v1.1.4-1.
  • vWii CIOS d2x-v10-beta52-vWii installed in base 56 slot 249, base 57 slot 250 & base 58 slot 251.
  • IOS80 patched.
  • controller.ini within SD root and Nintendont directory containing pre-built controller mappings for WUPC/Mayflash USB adapter.

Note: Wii remote pairs fine in Nintendont. Reconnecting WUPC as controller 1, 2, 3 prior launching vWii/Nintendont does not make a difference. Gamecube games run OK.

Using nintendont forwarder, I am able to use my Wii U Gamepad as my input device (when selecting Yes at the prompt if I wish to use Gamepad). Selecting either yes/no at this prompt does not enable Wii U Pro Controller sync unfortunately.

Have tinkered for the last couple of nights, would be keen to hear any tips from you seasoned veterans here before I retire concluding that WUPC only works on vanilla jailbroken Wii systems...

Cheers!

Wiiu pro controller works fine for me on wiiu or even wii, unless they are fake and you don't even know about them and they are good fakes.
First resync your wiiupro, just stay on wiiu menu hit ref button on wiiu pro and wiiu itself, then go to nintendont directly through Homebrew channel and start nintendont directly from there, press A while I side nintendont menu, if it doesn't sync on nintendont menu it's a fake.

Where is the ref button?

Going to nintendont directly through HC is a bit of a contradiction... I can either:
  1. Wii U -> Haxchi -> Nintendont forwarder.
    1. Gamepad: yes.
    2. Gamepad: no. Wii mote works only.
  2. Wii U -> Haxchi -> vWii > Nintendont forwarder.
  3. Wii U -> Haxchi -> vWii -> Homebrew channel -> nintendont.
  4. Wii U -> Haxchi -> Homebrew Launcher -> HBL2HCL -> Nintendont.
I have exhausted all above options and am reaching out once more.
WUPC disconnects as soon as I open vWii homebrew channel or any vWii homebrew for the matter. Wii mote stays sync'd as player 2.

Controller is official as far as I can tell, has Wii U logo, model number, nintendo support and all.

the four lights is indicative of there not being enough buttons. I've never had issues with the pro controller and nintendont. can you use a cube controller?

Bear in mind the four lights are blinking with the controller attempting sync after I press the A button.

Unable to test with a cube controller yet as I do not have the adapter.

just reset your controller, maybe you synced too many controillers and nintendont cant see it.

hit the red button on back of the wiiu pro controller and the red button on the wiiu itsefl on the front.

Hi Pedro,

I have already done that, tried all the basics under the sun before reaching out here; does not work.

WUPC does not sync when in nintendont or any vWii homebrew apps.
I have re-sync'd the hell out of WUPC in vWii and WiiU menu as mentioned above, both before and after running Haxchi.

None of these work, controller simply powers off when in vWii homebrew/nintendont, pressing A, +, sync does nothing.

Changing wii mote from P1 to P2 and vice versa also has no effect; WUPC still disconnected.

Basically same symptoms as a 3rd party controller.

Bizarre.

did you write down which version you're using somewhere? I have version 5.486. everything works, so I've never updated or anything.
