I honestly don't know what you think decent internet is. There's various reports of those with gigabit, running hard line directly to the modem getting instabilities and drops. To say "if it doesn't work then it's your problem" is ignorant and makes you look pretty freaking stupid.
You're right there might be more to it. But all I know is my internet isn't the best. It's good, but not the best, and I've played quite a few games now, which have literally no lag, so it doesn't sound to me like those who are reporting that are being truthful, or have as good internet at they claim to have. I think you need to back off with your condescending tone, thanks.

And what do you mean by doesn't run better than a $400 dollar machine? In what respect? That doesn't make sense. And it running well, while playing from an online server IS the selling point. At what point did they say that it would perform better than current solutions? And it most definitely does add additional features in some games, as highlighted by this initial post.
They most definitely advertised 4k at 60fps and more. Which they aren't delivering on most games. This IS a selling point. Otherwise again, for all the players who have a console already (and let's face it, it's the current target of Stadia) what is the point?
They also advertised features such as being able to jump right into the game of a streamer. Stuff like that. They under-delivered on their initial promise.
I see it as a No Man's Sky situation. They could redeem themselves. but they'd have to do a lot. Most likely this would start with the pricing model.

Also I won't say that some people aren't just too happy to hate for hating. I think that for stuff like Sword and Shield for example and MTX as a whole being treated as being all evil when in reality, it varies from company to company. Heck. I'm not even worried about game ownership. With Patch 1 these days even a physical media doesn't have all the data anymore anyway.

In this case though... well...
If you want to sell me a service, tell me what it adds to my experience that I don't already have. Knowing it runs relatively well from a machine far far away is a cool technical milestone for geeks, but it doesn't add to the gamer experience. It's "gimmicky" at best until it really brings something new.

The 4k, 60fps is available via the pro membership. I'd easily argue that the main selling point of Stadia is the ability to play a big game anywhere where you have internet. And as far as those features you've said I haven't heard of those, because I was not interested in stadia from the get go and did not keep up with the little additional features. In fact I was one of the people who was hating on it initially. But after playing it, I get it. I understand it. Which a lot of people do not. But with regard to your comment, if they did say that then you're right. They need to deliver on those promises. It isn't cool that they're not doing that. I know they announced some stream feature in this post here right? But if they did not, and they promised it, then it's stupid that they haven't already. And I disagree with the Sword and Shield thing. I try not to get into that. I feel that at some point, you cannot have a game where you can catch all 5,039,293 pokemon. So I feel like it makes sense. I don't like it, but I can understand why they are doing it. I feel adding in the DLC is a lot better than having the same exact third game for full price. But with that said, Isle of Armor was really lackluster and I don't feel like the money I spent on it so far was really worth it. So hopefully the new DLC will change that. But I disagree with people kicking and screaming like children, saying that Gamefreak is incompetent and stupid. They have about 20 years of experience making the pokemon games. I feel the small vocal group of people who say they're incompetent because they don't like and understand why they're doing what they are doing. But in no way are they incompetent. It's just an insult the vocal minority likes to use because of their ignorance and their irritability regarding some choices they have made. The games got glowing reviews from most people. It's the vocal minority who are way too extreme, boycotting and crying over the little things. Yeah I despise them not adding in all the pokemon. Hell my favourite one is missing. But it doesn't detract from what I'd rate the game, in any way. The games are enjoyable and they're fun, as they've always been. And people buy them because they enjoy the games. They know what they're getting into. They're doing some heavy compromises, but I feel there's more to the story from a business perspective and from a developer perspective than the vocal minority can even comprehend. I think to flat out argue that they're incompetent is completely ignorant from the small playerbase who claims that. But over all the games got really good reviews. So what if it's a similar game every year? That's what pokemon is, and that's why people buy it. Look at call of duty. People buy it every year, it sells a lot, which means people enjoy it. Same thing with pokemon. The vocal minority just kick and scream and whine. Am I salty about some things of the direction they chose to take the games? Absolutely. But at least I'm understanding that there may be reasons that some of those compromises had to be done. As far as it being the "same game every year" I disagree with that form a con stand point. I think that's what makes it good. That's what people enjoy about it. They go in expecting to capture pokemon, beat the gyms, beat the elite 4, and repeat, To turn that into a negative is just stupid. It's what people enjoy about it, and why they continue buying it. people know what they're getting into. But back into the topic at hand, Stadia needs more games, they need to fulfill their promises, and they must do something about ownership of the games after the service is discontinued. To not do any of those things would be horrible.

and to those who would like to try it out and see if it works for them because i know not every body will be into it, you can do a free trial right now and you should have a discount code and you will be able to get the division 2 for free for keeps. If you like it great if not awesome. But I recommend giving it a chance. A free game is a free game right?

Imagina playing Sekiro on a bajillion ms input lag...
The input lag isn't bad at all. Seriously I have no idea where this comes from, but it doesn't lag, like, at all, in that sense. The input is clean, and practically lag-free. I'm beginning to think people who say this haven't even tried it. I don't know how it ran initially, but lag is not an issue with Stadia on a decent, stable connection. If you don't believe me, try it. It's got a free trial. This is what I mean by hating just to hate.

Here's some of the sources/reviews for 2020:

The lack of games, and the fact that it's online-only, and that you don't actually have the physical game in front of you, are the actual, realistic complaints. And no, it probably won't look as crisp as local games. However, lagging is not one of the valid issues, if you've got a solid internet connection. It's just one of those bandwagon hate things people like to yell about, and they couldn't be more wrong. Just make sure you've got a solid connection. Mine's nothing special. I have 100mbps download speed, and it's perfectly playable. I notice no lag, no input lag, etc. They wouldn't be releasing games like that one, unless they had a set model down on how to make it work. There are a lot of cons, which I can say definitively, however lag is barely one of them. This bandwagon-hating has to stop. It's ignorance. But by all means, keep hating without reason. Or, if you'd like to educate yourselves, instead of screaming like children, and clinging to the popular thing to hate, just try the free trial. Make an informed decision, not one based upon bias and ignorance, just because it's the popular thing to do.

Check my flag.

I saw that DF video before btw. The only way they can get it to anywhere near close real hardware is if ALL devices are turned off from the router while he's playing on his NASA-tier internet connection. Even then, it still has over 11 more frames of lag on top of Xbox one's default input lag. So not sure how this helps you defend Stadia on this regard.

I have my PS4, switch, PC (of course), phone, ipad, among other things connected to my internet.

I'm defending from experience, and I feel I need to because there are so many uninformed morons here, claiming it sucks, without ever having tried it, or having tried it on a shitty connection. It seems most are defending their bias. I'm just trying to uphold what's actually going on. If it lags for you, then your internet probably isn't strong enough for it. It plays fine. And what does "nasa-teir" mean? Because mine's only 100mbps download/s, and it's flawless. So either you're lying to hold onto your pride and bias, or you just are making assumptions based on nothing but wanting it to be bad.

Seriously. It runs fine. I've tested it at my shitty apartment, as well as my parent's house, and they've got worse internet than I do. Stop bandwagoning.
Sekiro with input delay? I could think of more enjoyable things to do
Again. You're ignorant and you don't know what you're talking about. It runs fine. There's hardly any lag on a decent connection. Stop hating just because it's the popular thing to do.

Goodness gracious, people here really like to hate things without reason or evidence, or understanding. A lot of this community has to learn how to grow up and not let their ego get in the way of making an informed decision, and being alright with accepting that they're wrong, or that they might not understand what they're talking about. I thought the same at first too. Blinded by ego and echoing what others were saying having not actually tried it. Now that I tried it, I can confidently admit, that I was wrong. It runs really really well on a decent connection. It's okay to be wrong, and to not hate something just because it's popular to hate.

I'm simply making a comment based off of my previous experiences with Stadia, but I guess that makes me ignorant? It's cool that it works for you and everyone else that likes it, but I'm not touching that with the amount of delay that I personally get.

I love Stadia, It's so good.
Now you're playing with Stadia!

I see it as a No Man's Sky situation. They could redeem themselves. but they'd have to do a lot. Most likely this would start with the pricing model.
The difference about this situation is that Google has already pulled several No Man's Sky's without redeeming themselves and just abandoning them.

I'm hoping they'll come through on this one but I have more belief that someone else will appear with the proper game streaming service.

Imo Google's role in this is merely to show that game streaming is possible, in the bigger picture.

Again, I do not know how it ran peviously, so if you've played it in the past, there's a possibility the netcode for it wasn't well optimized, I do not know. But as of this month, this year, from a solid, stable connection, it should run fine. Try again, if you've got a decent connection, and it WILL run well. It is not based on anything but your internet. So if your internet connection is at least as good as mine, it WILL run well. I don't know if tv, vs android vs chrome makes any difference, but I've read that using chrome can slow it down if certain things, such as extensions are enabled. (look on reddit to find solutions.) So if you've got a decent connection, and a fresh, or fairly fresh installation of chrome, it'll run well. Otherwise, yeah, you must not have the best connection. Because if you did, you'd be experiencing what I'm experiencing. If you need a comparison, I'm running them in google chrome for windows 10, with only adblocker extension installed and enabled, with a ~100mbps download speed.

Raw download speed is not a problem (beyond a certain point anyway) as much as latency -- you can have a terabit download but if it is 2000ms between a packet being sent from the server to arriving at your device then there is no point for any kind of action game (could play a nice game of chess though).
If you happen to be near a server with few hops to get there I imagine it will work great. Whether that is a practical reality (especially as google did not seem to go in for putting it in every exchange/cabinet in at least every big town) is a different matter. You also then run into the problem that it is the speed of light that is limiting you and that thing is a hard one to work around.

I should also note "not good" for Norway and "not good" in the rest of the world, especially the US, is not necessarily the same thing, to say nothing of Norway's geography making it a bit easier for most of the population there to have this sort of thing (Oslo to Bergen, which is the two biggest cities there, is about the size of some metro areas in the US, never mind counties or states).

I have nothing to add that hasn't been said before, I gave up on trying to play Gylt because of the input lag and the shitty video quality even when stadia said my connection was "excellent", I can't imagine how miserable it would be trying to play Sekiro on it.

Still being curious as too why google stadia sticks to their business plan. For now their biggest rival nvidia geforce now offers a far better business model consisting of a cheaper price and a better "solution". Instead of selling full priced games, they offer you to login into your steam/uplay/origin account and stream your already bought games.

They don't want to be in the business of only providing a virtual hardware service (kind of), the want to sell you the software, this is where the monie's at.

With a subscription model, which everyone has been pushing towards for the last 15 to 20 years, this is mega money, if they could make a decent product and market it well.

But I suppose people like to hate on things just to hate.

Simple, really.
If google succeeds it will severely damage the gaming industry in a sense they will remove the physical property of hardware and backups from customers, with all the coercion one can imagine.

Modernity and progress are usually antinomic.
