Hacking Sx Core and Sx Lite , test Units Received

looks like a nice solution without a solder/iron more like glueing it, is there more info about that ? also heat wise ?

not sure i been trying to find more videos about it,
it seems like there are different versions
one is carbon one is silver, and then there are 2 part epoxies and and then just singular one part glues
i don't see why this wouldn't work but i would like to see other people who have done a lot of mods chime in on it

silver is the best conductor and i don't think we are need that much current to be transferred through the solder points anyways

if the chip doesn't get that hot then maybe this stuff would hold up
but i never used it and i don't know much about it, tolerances etc.

If you really don't want to mess with soldering I guess this could be a valid option. I've never used it, though, and don't know anyone who has, so I honestly have no idea about how feasible this actually is. Maybe someone else here might be able to say with more certainty.

From watching the videos you linked it looks like a very permanent solution, and if that epoxy from the first video is really as strong as the guy says, then you definitely would need to get it right on the first try, which would be especially complicated considering it has a curing time and therefore cannot be tested immediately after application.

Again, I can't provide an educated opinion since I have absolutely no experience with these products, but to me they look like much more of a hassle than just soldering.

I don't consider it specially pricey, taking into account 25 € are only the license... the rest are the cost of the chips, delivery, etc..

Not turning green would probably be something not plugged in, or recheck your solder points I'm sure TX will have a troubleshooting guide thats kind of the point of these test units to iron everything out before the consumers get it in their hands. I would definitely not use any type of method to avoid soldering just pay someone to do the solder job for you there's too much risk factor involved to ruining a $200-300 unit to try to cut corners.

Some resellers have marked up the chip like $5-10 but honestly the chip is pretty reasonable for what you get at $50.

I hope this isn't off topic, but...
Does anyone in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA install these? I'm getting a Switch Lite soon (with my stimulus check, also getting a better PC, a game or 2 for the Switch, MH:W for PC, a 128GB mSD card for the Switch, and a year's Nintendo Switch Online subscription), and might buy an SX Lite up mid-July (after my b-day), but soldering anything that small is beyond my motor skills (plus, I don't trust the other people in my house to not disturb me while I attempt it, even if tiny soldering isn't required; not to mention, I cannot afford a soldering iron and flux anyway - I can barely afford the SX Lite with my b-day money... I wish I were a teenager again, maybe I'd get $125 to $200 for my b-day again if so. )

This mod can be installed and removed quite easily.

I like the RGH type lighting.

I'd agree. If I was using conductive epoxy, my fear would be the cleanup if something went wrong. It's got a long set up time (compared to just seconds with solder) and the qsb would have to be held in position against pads and components for all that time. If the consistency is anything like standard 2 part epoxy, it could stick to anything and everything and be really difficult to remove. I reckon solder paste could work well as a halfway house. Apply with a cocktail stick in a controlled amount as you would with the epoxy, and tap it with the tip of the iron whilst holding it in position.

Nobody gives things free... They said that because they know they will earn money selling the chip and that was a good way to look generous.

If you're not interested on the license, yo have no choice but waiting for cheap clone that does the same... I think it's not going to take them a lot of time to clone the chip
