I nearly lost my mind over the PPSSPP crashin issue yesterday. But now I finally got it working.

Maybe my problem is different from what others here experience, but as I said, an older version of the core from a month ago still worked for me. So what I did was loading my PSP games with the old core file, setting up the game config for each game I have and saving it.

Today I downloaded the newest nightly and it works. To make sure that the missing config files were definitely the issue I deleted one of the game config files again and yep, the game crashes on boot.

I can finally play GTA LCS again, it runs quite well on Switch with max overclock and looks better than it did on PSP. Set "Auto Frameskip" to "ON", leave the other frameskip settings at "0", set the resolution to "960x544", and set "Disable slower effects (Speedhack) to "ON".

The current PPSSPP core is 244a601, downloaded today.

Can you save and load save states?

It's weird, savestates only work for some of the games I tried but not all. In GTA LCS or VCS and in Megaman Powered Up savestates crash the emulator. In Silent Hill Origins (which still suffers from broken flashlight effects), LittleBigPlanet (thankfully, because it takes ages to load with all the downloaded levels) and in Salamander Portable they work fine.

That's all the games I tried so far.

Also, the games crash when closing them for me. To prevent the crash I have to load another game for a different console instead. Strange...

Yeah I'm going to have to switch to the standalone gotta have them for all the games I want. When it first arrived on Retroarch Switch all games worked but they've been broken for a very long time like 6 months now at least for me.

One more ? if you install a game where do you go to delete the install on your sd card? It caused a game to crash for me I believe (Assassins Creed Bloodlines)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Nevermind the above ? I figured out with Assassins Creed Bloodlines it doesn't work on standalone PPSSPP (crashes) and on Retroarch save states don't work. Oh well.

Can someone help me to find the problem?
I just updated ofw, and retroarch. For some reason when I launched it I noticed that my settings just vanished and were set to default.

The main problem now is that my games don't have save files, everything's gone. I only see the one save file for psp in Medievil Resurrection, but it is very old, 2019 october. I guess my saves are somewhere else and not in the config default folder. But I did not change the path to save files in the past. Can my saves be somewhere else in the retroarch folder?

Nevermind. I managed to find my old saves in ppsspp standalone folder, don't now why these files were there and not in the retroarch/cores.

It seems that PCSX Rearmed isn't working anymore in the latest build of retroarch. Does somebody have a version that still works? And do I need the BIOS files to get it to work?

Updating does not delete your bios if you had them before you still have them. I'm going to test some more shortly but I also updated to latest Retroarch latest OFW and latest nightly and PCSX Rearmed worked for me but I only tested briefly. So you should be more specific when you say it doesn't work are you getting an error or crashing or what.

To me 10+ firmware has been so much easier to update to than 9 was. I have around 400 nsp forwarders and I had to re-do every single one because of the controls being broke in 9.0 it sucked.

All you had to do was to the update the .nro, forwarders have nothing to do with broken controls, they are just forwarders, you know. I had several hb forwarders and after updating to 9.0, i just updated all homebrews that had broken controls, no need for remaking forwarders.

You mean update Retroarch? I did that and they didn't work. Even the guy who made nro2nsp said they had to be redone.

If you read through this page this is the info I went by that I remade them, other people had to and the re.lax who made nro2nsp agreed https://gbatemp.net/threads/nro2nsp-retroarch-rom-nro-forwarders.519915/page-17

Well, i guess rom forwarders work differently, i don't bother using rom forwarders cause i see no point. But for regular hb forwarders you just have to update the homebrew itself, that's all.

I think forwarders are awesome it makes a Retroarch game be like a Switch game that you can just start on the main menu. Looks cooler and is easier than having to open up an emulator then load the rom. Same for Launchbox on PC all my games are in there that are a double click away from playing.

I think having playlists with thumbnails is more than enough for emulation than having 400 roms icons on a shitty nintendo home screen without any customization options. But if you like it, it's fine, nothing wrong with that.

Well you're still having to navigate the shitty switch nintendo home screen to get to said emulator lol. But hey if that's the way you like it nothing wrong with that.

I don't even know why this is important enough to you to have a debate about who cares how someone wants their menu and how they play their games.

Perhaps because it directly conflicts with the OP?
The RetroArch NSP, NSP forwarders of any kind, or launching HBL through the Album (or any) applet are NOT supported.
And they are known to be quite buggy and for some of us normal CFW users it presents a pretty severe ban risk?

They are falsely known to be buggy and re.lax is a nice guy who does quality work and doesn't deserve disrespect. His forwarders work exactly as loading a game through Retroarch and even take care of title override for you. I've been using them for over a year and never had a problem except for yes having to redo the forwarders that 1 time but it was worth it.

You guys should tone down the doucheyness games are meant to be enjoyed. Anyway I'll just add to my ignore list and conversate with cool people not people who are here to try to insult you just for playing the games the way you want to you guys need a wake up call in life just to be cooler to people.

We (or at least, I) never once disrespected the person, or people, who make forwarders in the first place. But it's not like they're supported, due to the methods used to make them in the first place tending to get out of date very quickly, and are legally dubious.

You guys should tone down the doucheyness games are meant to be enjoyed.
Since when has informing users become an act of 'doucheyness'? I've seen this at least twice now in the past month, and it's pretty insultingly ridiculous.

Anyway I'll just add to my ignore list and conversate with cool people not people who are here to try to insult you just for playing the games the way you want to you guys need a wake up call in life just to be cooler to people.
And since when was this a mature thing to do? Don't even invite discussion; just shut down people whose views don't align with your own, even though all they're trying to do is help.
We don't care how you play your games - but if you're coming to support threads to advocate for something that the original poster and developers have clearly discourage/disallowed, then that's pretty disrespectful.

Take after your own advice: be cooler to people.
