Reggie Fils-Aime announces new podcast for charity
While he has retired from Nintendo, former NOA president Reggie Fils-Aime is still quite active in the games industry, as proven by his latest project. Is your body Reggie for charity? Because Reggie plans to partner up with award-winning journalist Harold Goldberg in order to start a podcast titled Talking Games with Reggie and Harold. The seven-part podcast is meant to serve as an incentive to donate to the newly-launched Gofundme that intends to help homeless students in need. The company behind the charity is the New York Video Game Critics Circle, a nonprofit comprised of journalists that go around to homeless shelters throughout New York to offer free seminars and workshops and reward scholarships to students that need help.
Right now, due to COVID-19, the courses will only be online, but once things go back to normal, the charity plans to offer the courses to teachers all throughout the United States, for free. Those who donate will also be able to earn special backer options, such as getting longer uncut versions of the podcast episodes and a chance to submit a question for Reggie to answer during one of the episodes.
