Homebrew Need help!

Dear members,

I'm a new user of the 3ds. In fact, this is the first time in more than 10 years that I've picked up a video game. I'm trying to find information on how to homebrew it and all the files I need to download, but every single tutorial I've seen is different. I have version 11.13.0-45E, if that helps. I would love some tips/tricks/recent relevant tutorials. I would greatly appreciate the help.

Hey! So I've been busy with this guide and I'm having some problems with the bootstrap section.

They say:

1. Open Fredtool on your computer
2. Select your movable.sed file for the “Your movable.sed” field
3. Select your DSiWare Backup (<8-character-id>.bin) file for the “Your dsiware.bin” field
4. Complete the “I’m not a robot” captcha
5. Select “Start”
6. Wait for the process to complete

But I have no idea what they mean by the DSiWare Backup, because the only one that I have was the one from downloading BannerBomb, and they said in the page before this one to delete it. Then I recovered it, put it in Fredtool and it gave me an error. Am I doing something wrong?

And after this, I also followed Jack Sorrel's guide on youtube and all I got was a black screen when I opened the game he said to open. I also tried downloading BOTH old and new files on homebrew launch.

The suggestion was to follow that guide Ryushinobi500 suggested, shouldn't never follow a youtube video.

Well I did both...and neither of them worked :/. I'm just wondering whether it's due to the fact that this is a second hand 3DS...

No if you followed the guide given correctly you should had been fine, not the youtube video, they tends to be outdated and missing information, that why people on this forum doesn't recommend youtube video.

Did you atleast install Boot9strap?

I apologise. I redid everything in the guide and it was successful. The only part I don't get from the guide is the last part about updating Luma3DS, after the instructions. I did that and afterwards I came to the configuration menu, but not to the chain loader menu. Is there anything else I should be doing? And do I now have Homebrew or also CFW?
