Hi all,

I was wondering if you can help me out. I've dug through the forum but it left me with more questions than when I started, so please forgive my lack of knowledge.

My sons (original) switch is on fw 5.1.0, and he has a SX dongle. We're running a VERY early version of SX OS (pre emunand)

What is the safest and best upgrade path to update to the newest possible firmware without losing SX OS functionality? (he doesn't use the switch online or download any content if that helps)

TIA

T

TX has a guide for this. It's their update offline guide. Update SX OS to the latest version, by either using the update button or downloading it from the TX OS site and putting it on the SD card.

After your on the latest version of SX OS just use ChoiDujourNX 1.0.2 to update. I don't know if I'm supposed to link the SX OS web page but if you goto google and just search "SX OS Offline Update". The first or one of the first links should take you to the SX OS Forums, follow their guide. It'll have links to all the software and firmware files you need.

Edit: Also, make sure you don't update the switch to firmware 10. Use the newest 9.x whatever it is. SX OS doesn't work with 10 until they update it.

Also, it is HIIIIIGGGGGHHHLLLLYYYY recommended that you do a full backup before you do ANYTHING. It's going to take around an hour, but I 100% definitely wouldn't do anything without a FULL backup. Instructions for a backup are at the top of the guide to offline update.

no you did right by not posting link because any link to sxos or executer is not allowed
