Source? We know absolutely nothing about it besides the fact that it exists, in its current form it uses Mariko, supports 4gb & 8gb of memory, and it might have two screens (how they’re configured is completely unknown).
We have no platform config, proper device name, photos, we don’t even know if it’s actually a Switch or if they plans to ever release it.

Update 10.0 is the source... We don't know what it is, but we know is a Switch that has a secondary screen EXCLUSIVE to that model.

why are they bringing the second screen bs back? didn't they learn anything from the wiiu and how much of a FAILURE it was?!
Bad implementation of a GREAT idea, and also horrible marketing. Maybe the second screen on Switch Pro will be just a second screen to play when the TV is off and that's all... Or have touch input on some games that requieres it or are touch screen only.

I'm in the "definitely don't believe it" camp, but as long as they're not trying to phase out the standard Switch, I wouldn't mind an "at home only" version for those who want it. I actually think having three options - Handheld only, docked only, and "Switch," would be really smart from a business standpoint.

The title is just old... When are talking about the Switch Revision :)

Lol tel tht to the parents buying ther kid one and the shop assistant explaining it to them and youl end up with confusion - nintendo really should focus on a power machine and a handheld it's as simple as tht

A former Big N employe states Switch 2 - ? coming along with BOTW 2 in Jan of 2021 and will be a home console and feature 4k 60fps, makes you wonder what their plans will be.
Will it allow the game carts to work across both systems will it download 4k texture packs to the home system? What will it mean for the portable Switch going forward?

Makes me think it will be the WiiU 2 with the Switch acting like the gamepad but this time you can actually walk away and continue to play your games on the go

Also details about BOTW2 Spoilers

take this with a small grain of salt .. I only care about the possible effects it could have on the ecosystem :)
if that is the case then why not just release a "power pak" type accessory , that would go in that expansion bay in the dock
or just release a "pro dock"
but all this is getting more reminiscent of megadrive/geneis/ sega CD/ 32x
than wii u

also what about MP4 , i think anyone who (like myself) bought the switch on promises of MP4 should file class action lawsuit for misleading us
if it's not released on current hardware , anyone who bought the switch for MP4 should be given a voucher for the new system for free or the equivalent value in cash

i'm hoping it's a VR/AR headset TBH

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

That's why is a HOME CONSOLE only, now we will have the 3, Portable, Hybrid and Home..

The home version will be more powerful also because it wont have the battery problems, more storage and so on!
they would not be dumb enough to revisit that disaster again

it would make more sense if it were a home only console with a regular pro like controller (no screen) that just hooks up to the TV
and then has a wireless VR/AR headset that connects to it , and they have 3 bundles
VR unit alone, home console unit alone, both units bundled together

and also sell a less powerful home console not capable of VR , essentially like a PS vita TV ,a switch with no screen or battery or joycons
it would be very cheap to produce and could have a similar price tag $99 , or $129 , for people who don't really care about gaming on the go

Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like this would be an easy one to explain. "Does your child want to play just at home, just on the go, or both? Here's what you should get based on that." Anyone old enough to care about the more powerful machine is old enough to at least go with a parent to the store and pick it out themselves, if not go on their own.

I genuinely can't tell if you're being serious.

I can’t see it being VR when Sony is not able to sell it like hot cakes 100 mil systems sold vs 5mil VR sold proves it’s still more of a novelty especially when it also physically impairs some people

i am being totally serious
it's false advertising , and they would beliable a class action would likely be successful because it is a major 1st party title
it's not like say 3DS where a 3rd party like MML3 was promised and not delivered

Nintendo make both the hardware and software , they have motive to lie to sell their hardware

Yes, but we have absolutely no idea how that second screen is used.
Does the Tegra chip support miracast? Besides it maybe being Wii U 2 maybe a broadcasting device that plugs in to usb-c for Switch Lite

the switch supports and plays mp4 but doesn’t have a dedicated player

Metroid Prime 4

Metroid Prime 4

Personally all first person shooters are the most ideal games for VR but you can’t persuade the masses unless the experience is near perfect

Considering what fans have been through with this series it would be a make or break situation with a lot of money invested and Metroid fan base is tiny compared to Nintendo’s other IP’s so that would be a very ballsy move on their part ,but hey if it’s a mind blowing experience it could really help push the VR boundaries

With the World facing a Pandemic and the Top Scientist instructing World leaders they weren’t able to prevent an Outbreak and now you want to rely on a clerk to help make that type of decision... lol

Yes. I do want to rely on a clerk to help make a purchase in a retail setting. I've worked in that clerk's shoes. It's not that difficult. It's certainly not anything near the level of a worldwide pandemic and top scientists trying to instruct world leaders. In fact, I'd say they're not even in the same ballpark.

It was just and anoglogy about the brightest minds convincing people to make the right decision... but Wii U faced the same situation and people thought it was a peripheral

Miracast is TOO SLOW and laggy, Nintendo will have to use the 5GHZ WIFI solution for this again.

That USB C thing i was thinking of a DONLGE that has the built in WIFI receiver to give you the image on the TV... without a dock.

Yeah maybe rethinking strategy due to World events so now they need to convert and sell attachments to make up differences
