Hello there! I am completely new here and I just recently ran into a problem with USB Loader GX on my RVL-101 Wii. To explain myself, I softmodded my Wii a while back, where all went fine and I was able to run a few Wii games on USB Loader GX through a Staples 8GB USB Flash Drive, (I don't have my hands on a proper HDD just yet), but regardless, everything worked fine. Recently I decided to add a few more Wii games and the addition of some Gamecube ones as well. I used Wii Backup Manager to transfer the new Wii games, then manually put the Gamecube games in subfolders within a "games" folder. I tried out the Gamecube games and worked just fine through USB Loader GX, but once I checked on my new Wii games, they would not load and stayed on a black screen. Checking my other Wii games led to the same result. I've tried reinstalling IOS's on cIOS installer through the wii.guide site, but yet again, the same result. Is there something I did wrong and is this fixable? Here is my System Check

At the moment I am busy making a bootmii NAND backup via HBC and updating some apps. I'll try to do what you said and notify once I am ready to.

And to answer you, I've always used the bottom-most USB port since plugging the middle/top one, makes USB Loader GX wait 20 seconds and never launch. However, USB Loader GX says Port 1 in its splash screen even though it's on the bottom port. Is that normal?

if it used to work "just before adding more games" there shouldn't be any reason it doesn't work anymore.
last time it worked is "just before", right?

or years ago?
is your flashdrive always been in FAT32, or was it formatted to WBFS when "it worked" ?

because flashdrives are usually not working well, unless you use IOS58 (not an cIOS) or WBFS (old partition format, not wbfs files on fat32)

it it was working with FAT32 before, did you try to reset the settings of the loader? maybe it's something you changed recently.

I just go with "it used to work so it still should", because flashdrives are usually taboo here.

Well it was always FAT32, but now I encounter a new problem. While the Wii games did not work, in either WiiFlow nor USB Loader GX, it still recognized the games in the menu and probperly booted into it through cIOS. But just minutes ago USB Loader GX just doesnt recognize it anymore, booting into IOS58 mode for the first time (This is through the same port that has always worked until now.) What do I do now? [New Notice] I defaulted USB Loader GX and it stopped working now.

Hello,

Just advice:

As Cyan says, a lot of problems with usb keys.

You can also test the wbfs format with your usb key, and test with the Loader "Configurable loader v70"
Often people on the forum who play with usb keys, get an external hard drive in fat 32, and it works wonderfully afterwards.

I don't want to influence anyone, just for information;)

I could definitely reformat it in the wbfs format, but that would mean losing GameCube compatibility, unless Nintendont still recognizes it as it is currently, but nonetheless it probably won't if I use wbfs or so I've heard. If this doesn't work, then I guess it means I'm going to have to wait to get an external drive at some point, the extra storage would be practical either way. ^_^

If you put your support in wbfs format, you will lose your Gamecube games.

If you get a hard drive in FAT 32 format, you can put the Wii and Gamecube games on the same partition.:yayu:
