So I hacked my WiiU a couple months ago using standard Haxchi and games installed to an external USB drive.
Most of the games are either native WiiU or WiiU VC stuff (downloaded via uTikDownloadHelper).
I also have a few Wii injects I created with TeconMoon's injection utility.

Looks like I just hit the 300 title limit in the system menu, and I am trying to figure out what my options are.
I have the following questions:

1) I believe "Loadiine" is the loader of choice for most not using the system menu. I seems though that this can only run games off SD card. Is this correct?

2) Are there any other 3rd party loaders that can run off the USB drive?

3) Because I have everything installed to the USB drive natively (.app/.tik file installs), I will need to convert all of my titles to loadiine format and load them onto a newly formatted FAT32 drive, correct?

4) I know I need a separate hard drive for Wii and WiiU titles. This is one of the reasons I was using TeconMoon's injector...so I could just launch Wii titles direct from WiiU menu via native USB. I have a modded Wii as well which uses USBLoaderGX. Is there a way I can configure the WiiU so that I can just take my HDD from my Wii and use it as-is on my WiiU? At least this way I can just move the HDD to the other system when I want to play those games in that room.

Any other major things I'm overlooking or options I might have? I wanted to stay away from having to rehack the vWii all over again, but if that is the way to go to use LoaderGX and the games from my original Wii HDD, then I might go that route.

Thanks.

1) Yes.
2) No.
3) No. Loadiine will run your games from SD (see point 1), not some external drive.
4) Yes and no. You can't have your Wii U drive and the Wii drive connected at the same time.

Uninstall games you don't play right now and install/deinstall on demand? I mean comeon, you're not playing 300+ games in parallel, are you?

You're right...but it is a pain to copy to them SD and then install. Also for the kids/parties and stuff having all sorts of options is fun to have.

I don't think I've read that the WiiU drive and Wii connected at the same time, just that they need to be on different drives. What happens if they are both connected?

And to confirm...the exact same drive I use on my Wii which is formatted and structured for USBLoaderGX will be readable by USBLoaderGX inside my vWii?

thx

I'm not talking from experience here but there are loud voices all around the net to not connect both drives at the same time. The first thing that will happen is that you Wii U will want to format the FAT32 drive. AFAIK You should connect a FAT32 (Wii formatted) drive to your Wii U only while in vWii mode.

And to confirm...the exact same drive I use on my Wii which is formatted and structured for USBLoaderGX will be readable by USBLoaderGX inside my vWii?
Again: I didn't try this for myself... But I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work: Same filesystem (FAT32), same tool (USB loader GX) and so on.

Ah, good point and i can't answer that but I'll do a little digging later.

Edit..

Can't seem to see anything regarding using a ustealthed drive in an original Wii but from reading the release notes it seems it's Wii U compatible only due to the libfat files that are required for the homebrew to be read by the usb once ustealth is used.

I guess the only way to be sure is to try it out yourself but be sure to back your drive up first incase of any corruption issues that may or may not arise but I would expect it will not be read. Sorry I can't help more, haven't used ustealth myself either.
