so this is an odd request. Is there a cheat to make it so that you don't level up grades when you battle? I'm sure it's a bit more complicated than a simple cheat. I've figured out a lot from reading through here but ROM hacking seems very difficult and I don't see myself being able to do it without a video guide. I've figured out how to edit using 010 thanks to @AkiraKurusu and all the questions he asked. My thought process by getting around some of the kinks I've run into is keeping my characters reason and faith skills at E so I can add in a personalized spell list. Only thing with that is every time they level up a grade, everything resets. If you hack in a spell over an existing spell, they'll relearn it every week. So I thought maybe if I max at those skills at S+ then add in my own skill list, they won't level up anymore and therefore won't overwrite the spells I imposed. That doesn't seem to work either. I'm guessing my only choice is to stick with the spells they already learn and just add spells to the spots where they don't learn spells.
Did you try the highlight spell with rank code for the rank then rehack your spells in?

I have not seen this code nor how it works. I'll look for it and try it out if I can figure it out. Thanks for the info!

*update*

ok so I'm guessing it's these codes

  • Highlight - Spell List without Rank Y+Dpad UP
  • Highlight - Spell List with Rank Y+Dpad UP
not sure how to use them yet though. I'll read through and see if I can find out how they work

If you have discord, I can walk you thru the code...

Will the save editor ever be updated to support DLC classes and abilities?
Currently, the class mastery shows up, which can be edited. However, actually classes and and abilities seems to be uneditable.
I have unlocked Trickster on someone manually and when I tried to get rid of it and it's ability, it seems like I can find a way to do so.
If there is currently no way to edit this in the save editor, are there any other methods or even codes to change this?

It's because they're not pointing at the right addresses.
If my memos are accurate(I haven't played this game for a while), the addresses for the first character on the roster (Byleth) are:
  • Abilities: 70Fh (Duelist's Blow:4, Uncanny Blow:8)
  • Class Flags: 733h (Trickster:1, War Monk:2, Dark Flier:4, Valkyrie:8)
...and +24Ch for every next character afterwards.
You can edit the savefile manually with a hex editor.

Can anyone tell me how to inject Rhea into the party with details? Also I have additional questions:
1)Can she change class from her archbishop class? Will her sprite remain the archbishop one if she change class?what about her stats?and abilities of other classes?
2)Can she cause crash or something?
3)Can you just add her or do you have to replace existing unit with her?

I really want Rhea in party!please tell me how to inject characters..Thank you very much!

btw I use AMS 0.10.2/firmware 9.10/ FE 1.20

To inject Rhea you need Falo's save editor (you can get it on the front page or in the post right above yours) and of course your save game. I'm not sure if it'S available for atmos, but you can dump it with "checkpoint". also you need rheas character file. there are two versions of her (link on the front page) and I tested the one on page 150, which is her "Saint" Class Version (though stat wise the two classes are identical, at least from what I found).

So to inject Rhea you open your save file in the editor, click on the roster tab and then choose an unused character slot (I somewhere read that you should pic slots from number 51 upwards). Now you can click "import" and select the rhea.character file you downloaded, don't forget to click "save changes". The last thing to do is wirte the save and you're done.

Regarding your questions:
1) She can change classes, I didn't pay attention to the spirte, so not sure about that. You can read her stats if you click on the "test" tab in the save editor and then choose rhea (her character is number 0036). About her abilites/combat arts/spells: I don't think she learns new abilities or combat arts, she just has some by default (you can check them in the roster tab. you can edit them there as well). What I found out is that is able to learn spells (some, already learned by her are also listed in the roster tab, but she learns two more in reason: Ragnarok at rank A and Agnea's Arrow at rank A+).

2) Since I haven't done a full playthrough with her I'm not entirely sure, but I tested her in a normal battle which worked fine.

3) You can just add her, no need to overwrite anyone. She then appears normally in your ingame roster. One thing I should point out is that I could not teach her like the "normal" characters, so it's more difficult to acutally train her (then again, the poster I got the .character file from said he was able to teach her normally, but I didn't look further into that).

Right, that's it, I hope it helps!

Thanks a lot! It really helps! I have some more questions if you don't mind.

Thank you so much nemmeh88! It is very detailed. I have some more questions to ask if you dont mind.
1)you said you use the page 150 rhea( which i see as "rhea alt"?). How is her portrait? Is it the saint one or the archbishop one?
2)the link in the front page leads to "correct rhea". Is that one archbishop or saint class? How about the portrait?why dont you use this rhea if you dont mind me asking.
3)Is it possible to add clones in the game like adding correct rhea and rhea alt in different character slots?

Thanks again nemmeh88.

Right, I'm not a 100% sure about my answers, I would need to check again, but:
1) I think her portrait is that of her as archbishop during all times
2) That I checked again and both seem to be the saint class (but you can edit that in the save editor as well). And I used the rhea alt because
I liked Rhea being Seiros for battles

3) if I remember correctly I got two Rhea versions working at the same time.

Thank you very much for your help!
1)So it is the archbishop portrait..which is quite fine to me.
2)I can totally understand your spoiler, I think it is cool too! :D but it'd be nice if we could get saint portrait for its battle model.

Actually I tried the file you sent me with the save editor and they showed up as rhea and rhea alt obe is level 11 and one is level 1 in the save editor. I put it like you said in the 51th and 52th roster and follow the rest of your instruction. But they dont show up in the game, I wonder if my version of 1.2 has something to do with it or that my game is still too early in the game..What is your fe3h version nemmeh88?do you use ams as well?thanks again nemmegmh88 you really helps.

Make sure you're using the right save slot. At first the characters didn't show up for me either. Turns out my save dump had more save slots than were shown ingame, which I didn't pay attention to. Ingame there were 6 save slots (excluding the side story, the auto save and bookmarks) but the dump had 7 slots. So I opened the wrong save slot. That might be it.
