Hello everyone. I have been using my switch without problems with firmware 9.1.0 and atmosphere 0.10.1E.
HBG has been working great in its version 7.1.0. But yesterday I tried to use it and the new games, DLC and updates options were gone.... so I thought that maybe an update was needed.

So I installed the last version, 8.1.0, downloaded from its official web site, and following the instructions described there.

Well, now when I open the app, I get an error saying that it can´t read the NAND, and asks me to install a kip to proceed. If I click in cancel, the app opens but it has no menus, and no content, everything is blank.

I am not sure if I have to click in OK to install a kip. I don´t know what it is and I don´t want to spoil something in my working switch.
I have also tried to copy the kip file in the kip folder, and edit the hekate file in bootloader folder of the SD card, to add the line of the kip file, but it does not work either. And with the modification, the load of the system is a little less convenient. Currnetly I plug in the dongle, enter RCM and click in the button ASM and the CFW starts. With the kip modification, I have to plug the dongle, loadr RCM, and then click in Launch button and in atmosphere emunand, I don´t know why the procedure changes....

Maybe the version of HBG is not compatible with atmosphere version 0.10.1? ... if so, how can I safely install a new version of atmosphere without losing anything I already have working in the console?...

Can you please help me in getting hbg shop to work in my console?.

Best regards and thank you very much in advance.

If you must use HBG, you should not do so using Hekate. If you use Hekate/Kosmos, certain patches may not be loaded correctly. Use fusee-primary instead.

If you must use HBG, you must use the kip to disable certain security protections in Atmosphere. However, support for HBG using this kip will soon end, and you will need to use blawar's Atmosphere fork instead.

if there's an issue with HBG, why not ask in the #support channel on HBG discord server?

Thank you very much for your fast response. Can you give me a brief explanation how to use fusee-rpimary instead of hekate? I don´t know anything about hekate. I am using atmosphere as CFW, but how can I know that I am using hekate?.

Is there any other way to download backups of games directly from the switch, without using hbg?.

I have read that the kip is because the new version includes a new incognito feature. Isn´t there any way to use hbg just to download backups?, I am not interested in incognito, as I already have it enabled.

Best regards and thanks again for your help.

EDIT: I have read the informatino about the modified atmosphere version. Is it safe to install this modifed version?. I can try if it is safe and I won´t lose or spoil anything I hacve working right now...

Use fusee-primary instead of Hekate when you're pushing a payload to your Switch while it's in RCM. If you must use Hekate, chainload fusee-primary.bin.

There's Under Shop, or whatever it's called, but it also uses the latest version of blawar's Tinfoil, so the requirements might be similar.

No.

No.

Thank you very much, so if I load the fusee payload from the dongle, without having anything else, and I let hbg to create the kip file, then hbg should work fine?.

I will give it a try then.

Best regards and thanks a lot for your support.

For now, yes, that is correct. In the future, however, the kip will not suffice. If you must use HBG, you will eventually have to switch to blawar's Atmosphere fork linked above, so you might as well do that now.

Thanks I will try it.

Thank you very much.

Thank you very much.
I have just tried it. I have copied the bin file in the dongle, and set it up to load this payload. I start the switch and it starts fine. I open the hbg app and click ok to install the kip, the restart the switch and I have black screen, atmosphere does not start, grrrr, any idea...?

I have deleted the kip folder in the atmosphere folder and atmosphere starts fine again.. am I doing anything wrong?

@DrJ As I alluded to earlier, the kip is being deprecated due to incompatibilities with Atmosphere updates. If you want to use HBG, you should use blawar's Atmosphere fork.

Well, as you told me that running the fusee payload could be enough.... Then I see that I need to install new modified atmosphere, I will try it...

Can you give me some clue to install it without losing any configuration, games, data, and so on?.... Is it just following the steps in the website?, Am I going to lose something, incognito, settings, apps, games..?

Switching to blawar's Atmosphere fork should not affect Incognito, apps, games, saves, etc. If the default Atmosphere settings are good enough for you, I would do the following:
  1. Delete the /atmosphere/ and /sept/ folders from your SD card (back them up somewhere first)
  2. Copy over everything from blawar's fork
  3. If everything is working the way you want it, you're done. If there's a problem with the Atmosphere settings not being how you like it, copy over the appropriate config files or manually change it.
Aside from including the proper signature patches and disabling certain security features, blawar's Atmosphere is identical to the regular Atmosphere.

I haven´t been lucky. I have done all the steps and I have started switch with the new atmosphere, as seen in the settings of the console, 0.10.4E. But non of the games nor apps load, even hbmenu does not load, nor HBG, grrrr... so I have to go back to the old atmosphere, what could be the cause?....

If you copied everything from blawar's Atmosphere fork, you shouldn't be having issues. What error are you receiving?

It is a very generic one, The game can´t be loaded, try run it fromhome menu, or something like this....

How can I be sure that I am using the right fusee payload?.

Yes, this is the one I used, anyway to be sure that the payload I am using is the right one?.

I have used a new users folder in the dongle, copied the bin file and renamed it as payload.bin, and I have selected the payload by color in the dongle.

Best regards.
I don't know how your dongle works. It might be easier to chainload fusee-primary.

Use fusee-primary instead of Hekate when you're pushing a payload to your Switch while it's in RCM. If you must use Hekate, chainload fusee-primary.bin.

No.

Undershop runs his own atmosphere distribution that has the required changes to work with Tinfoil, so his pack is plug n play.
