Damn...after watching this video, I need a PS 5.
I think you do, too.

Here's an idea: Get one pre-order at Wal Mart and one at Game$top; sell the pre-order for double the price when it sells out, because it will and thank me for pushing you to do it.
If you want to thank me properly, you can take me on a date with all those internet bux.

This is all assuming everyone is alive by October.

By the way, I don't like anything besides pizza and beer; I also won't look at you badly if you try to use expired coupons on our date.

There's not a single playstation video game I have any interest in playing. So no, I don't need one, and I won't be thanking you later. I'll eat my N64 controller if these are sold out for more than the first week, and even then it will be because Sony PR is doing it on purpose.

And understand that no device from Sony will ever be able to play all previous PS titles. They'd have to add about $1K worth of hardware to each in order to come close.

You say that, but as my ex-girlfriends have said, "Get that out of there--that really hurts."
They thanked me later.

Seriously, it's okay if you don't want a PS 5. Really, it is.

I'll hold you to that--are we talking across the world, USA, JP, Canada--sold out where? I now want to see you eat an official N64 controller, cord socket to analog stick and I want you to do it in less than 2 hours, in one sitting.

And understand that no device from Sony will ever be able to play all previous PS titles.

Did you watch the first five minutes of the video?
How about three?

Also, maybe you just don't like Playstation. That explains the lack of motivation to play any game....but what if you already played one and you just don't know it?

I'm waiting maybe 3 years before getting a PS5. My PS2 and PS3 are modded and my PS4 has the major games no need to rush to buy when I have the OG consoles still.

really backward compatible with all games? via disk, or ala nintendo with digital only? cool either way.
i can't wait for it to get hacked :)
hopefully the ui is much more logical than ps4's... xmb = best.

do you actually have information? or do you mean that probably only 95% of games will work?
(for example, not all ps1 games are playable on ps2, but yeah it's the vast, vast majority, basically 100% work)

Is it region free? And does it include download games?

If so there may *finally* be a modern system capable of playing Virtua Racing, Daytona USA *and* Sega Rally. With NiGHTS into Dreams as a bonus...

Ps1 and ps2 = emulation?
ps3 = psn now, obviously. or sony developed an emulator (impossible)
ps4 = same architecture, natural BC

haven't played ps1 or ps2 games for ages though
Probably this.

I'll just play PS1/PS2 on the respective consoles.

Better idea: Mod a PS3 Slim for cheap and save yourself tons of money from having to rebuy the same games Sony has already made you pay for.

Except a PS3 won't play PS4 and PS5 games. Also not sure what you understand by "backwards compatible" but you're not going to have to buy games again that you already own...

Don't care until Sony themselves confirmed it. Microsoft already did... but it was a given since they spent alot of the Xbox One generarion building up to backwards compatible with everything Xbox.

Obviously it won't play PS4 and PS5 games, my point is, if it takes people to see that it's BC in order to incentivise them to drop $500 on a new console, then they are passing up a much more affordable option of owning a PS3 for BC if that's what they really want. Unless both the PS5 can play from official PS1/2/3 discs (which I highly doubt) AND someone owns all of those game physically, then yes they would have to pay for them again via digital download (duh). Homebrew and CFW on a PS3 is so easy and cheap when compared to dropping $500 on a PS5 if the buyer's primary interest is playing older PS1-PS2-PS3 games. I paid CAD$60 for a PS3 slim CECH-2001 that came with a 500gb HDD and had it setup that same day with CFW and the ability to run PS1/2/3 games...

This backwards compatibility will be good if the ps5 is hacked early and easily as I skipped the PS4 and wanted to play several games on it. I know the PS4 was somewhat hacked but it seemed too convoluted. Once a pirate, always a pirate, so I refuse to actually buy the games I missed.

@H1B1Esquire If I sell my ps5 preorders and take you on the pizza date, there better be some of that thing that is in your avatar or else the deal is off. I need a pinky promise from you. FYI, I'm the pitcher. Never the catcher. :P

Yea I really think you're confusing backwards compatibility with re- releases...
