Hi, I'm very new to Wii hacking. Anyways, I've been trying to get USB Loader GX to work, and I've specifically been wanting to play Mario Party 8. Anyways, I'm using a .wbfs format for the game and I'm using a USB 2.0 FAT32 Flash Drive to put it on the Wii. I used WiiBackupManager to put it on my drive, and I think it's been renamed correctly. I go to Usb Loader GX and the game shows up with the menu, but when I hit start it goes to a black screen, then it goes to the Wii home menu. I looked it up and a lot of people have been saying it's due to a problem with the cios thing. I've installed D2X CIOS using this video:

Thanks!

Hello,

Syscheck report ==> OK

You know that the USB keys do not work well with the Wii (often black screen or never starts) ??

Prefer an external hard drive (FAT 32 recommend) and you will get better results.

You can try to change the charger IOS (USB gx) put 249:
USBLoader GX - Parameters - Global parameters - Parameters of the charger - IOS 58 of the charger -> 249 and result?

USB Flash Drives work perfectly well with Wii. I've been using them since 2012, and so have countless others. Not sure why they continue to spread that misinformation, but that's not it. You might get it working, and it may be that you are using a HD by then, but quality USB Flash Drives work fine and have for a long time.

Hello,

I have used various USB keys (quality, brand) in the past, and this has often led me to a black screen or does not start (I know that my syscheck report is correct, I am using version 8 final with an external hard drive with power supply).:yay:

you say that the usb keys work well, ok ok. (luckily you say the good quality keys)

but how many people on the site use defective and cheap USB keys (a lot) ?? .:nayps3:

Nothing beats a good external hard drive.

Take as many external hard drives and as many USB keys and operate them with wii, which will work best? ==> hard drive ?? or usb key ??

In my opinion, the difference is quickly made.:yayswitch:

Sincerely Jeannotte:wink:

I'm really really really sorry but I tried doing that parameters thing you said to do but I can't find the settings. I looked in USB Loader GX's settings but I couldn't find that. What do you have to go into to find those settings? Sorry if I'm being annoying or really noobish!

I tried plugging it into the other port but that just gave me a black screen.

Thank you.:)

You can maybe try Configurable USBLoader
https://wiidatabase.de/downloads/usb-und-disk-loader/configurable-usb-loader-mod/
(please use DIREKT DOWNLOAD)

to find out if Games are even starting on your Wii.

When you start a Game, you can also see which cIOS the Game use and then you can try it on the USBLoader GX
(you can change the Game IOS in the Game Load Settings).

Maybe this works for you.

Good Luck.:)

Hi, new on gbatemp. All the methods you posted above don't work for me. I ran a system check and showed it to someone and they said everything looks perfectly fine. So I don't know why games won't load for me. To be more specific, wii games won't load, gc games are loading fine.

Well, my system check is messy. so I hope it doesn't make things worse. My USB device is a Memorex usb stick. Its formatted as a Fat32, and for loaders, I used several and they all failed. If there is one loader I want to work, its USB Loader gx. ios4 (rev 65280): Stub ios9 (rev 1034): No Patches ios10 (rev 768): Stub ios11 (rev 256): Stub ios12 (rev 526): No Patches ios13 (rev 1032): No Patches ios14 (rev 1032): No Patches ios15 (rev 1032): No Patches ios16 (rev 512): Stub ios17 (rev 1032): No Patches ios20 (rev 256): Stub ios21 (rev 1039): No Patches ios22 (rev 1294): No Patches ios28 (rev 1807): No Patches ios30 (rev 2816): Stub ios31 (rev 3608): No Patches ios33 (rev 3608): No Patches ios34 (rev 3608): No Patches ios35 (rev 2608): No Patches ios36 (rev 3608): No Patches ios37 (rev 5663): No Patches ios38 (rev 4124): No Patches ios40 (rev 3072): Stub ios41 (rev 3607): No Patches ios43 (rev 3607): No Patches ios45 (rev 3607): No Patches ios46 (rev 3607): No Patches ios48 (rev 4124): No Patches ios50 (rev 5120): Stub ios51 (rev 4864): Stub ios52 (rev 5888): Stub ios53 (rev 5663): No Patches ios55 (rev 5663): No Patches ios56 (rev 5662): No Patches ios57 (rev 5919): No Patches ios58 (rev 6176): USB 2.0 ios60 (rev 6400): Stub ios61 (rev 5662): No Patches

Thank you.:)

Your sysCheck "seems" ok.:D

For the USBLoader GX:
Please check the Version of it.
If it is v3.0 r1272 please go into the Settings/Global Settings - Loader Settings - Loader´s IOS
and check if it is 58 try 249 and if it is 249 try 58 please.Restart the Loader and try it please.

You can also try r1268 or 1271 instead:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/usbloadergx/files/Releases/New revisions (3.0+)/

For your USB Device:
It is plugged into the Port 0 please ?
index.jpg

Did your USB Stick ever worked ?
Can you maybe try an HDD instead please ?

Did you use the WiiBackup Manager for the Game Transfer from the PC to the USB Stick ?

Good Luck
Thank you.:)
