None of us have finished every game we've played. I try to at least finish the main quest but sometimes give up for one reason or another.

- Final Fantasy 7, I didn't have a Playstation back in the day and it was too outdated and unenjoyable by the time I played it.
- Seiken Densetsu 3, I accidentally restored an old save state from the very beginning of the game, overwriting my save file and losing a dozen or so hours of progress.
- Luigi's Mansion 3, the puzzles didn't make much sense to me, it was a matter of trying everything I can think of until something works.
- Super Metroid, I tried this several times but for various reasons stopped playing before I got very far. I intend to complete it in the future.
- Eternal Oasis, nothing about the game appealed to me.

oblivion, fallout , skyrim (basically all the Bethesda games) every time one comes out, people say OMG YOU MUST PLAY THIS THESE GAMES ARE SOOOOO GOOD, I give it a try and get bored after about 2 hours, guess they just aren't my cup of tea

on the note of FF7 I was so far into it as a kid and lost my save, tried to get back into it a few times at the time and just didn't like replaying more than half the game, I eventually got back into it many years later on the PC version and finished it

The Elder Scrolls - Oblivion
Many Hours played.....
It was a Shame, but it was my own Fault because I had played around with an "Portal close" Cheat/Command until the Game no longer knew which Worlds were now finished and which were not ....:(.

The Legend Of Zelda - Majora's Mask (N64).
My save disappeaed while i was about to fight the last boss.
Never had the courage to start this game again (thos who played this game will understand)...

I mean it would take far less time for me to compile a list of games that I have finished. I rarely finish a game. And those that I do finish, more often than not, I finish a decade or two after I originally started them.

Take A Link to The Past, for example. I stared that game about 3 times when it was originally released on the SNES. But didn't finally complete it until I got into retro gaming many years later. And even then my save file had to follow me across 3 systems (GP2X, Dingoo and Pandora) before I finally managed to get it done.

On my current Switch, sone incomplete games, off the top of my head, include D-Generation (though that game is pretty much broken anyway), Yoku's Island Express, one of the Monster Boy games, Fast RMX, Bubble Bobble, Jack and Jill, and New Luigi U. There's probably a good few more.

Too Many,

I think around 2000 games !! and why? yes its coming new game all the time and it is only 24 hours in 1 day and there are so many other things to do, the positive thing is that you have a big game backlog

I am pretty adamant when it comes to finishing games, kinda like food. Still, there are different categories of games I never finished. There are games I quit because I found them too boring, games that I plan to finish in the future, and games I didn't finish as a kid because I was horrible at games. Then I should also mention the dilemma of defining what finishing a game means and how you would define finishing a game that has an unlimited game cycle. Like some fighting games, racing games do you consider it finished when you've mastered the game or when you've played and won all tracks? Some games have almost infinite unlockables. Usually, I stick to saying a game is finished when you've finished the main story. For unlimited games I just say finished when I've gotten a good grip of the mechanics and can play it decently.

Some of the games I plan to finish in the future:
Castle Crashers
Heroes of Might and Magic IV The Gathering Storm - missing the final map/campaign
Kirby's Epic Yarn
Lover's in a Dangerous Spacetime
Monster Hunter World
Nintendo Land
Overcooked
Rayman Origins
Rayman Revolution
Resident Evil Revelations
Rhythm Heaven Fever
Yoshi's Woolly World

Recently I've finished many games that were unfinished for 10 years.

But to answer to question: Eternal Darkness. The first game I owned and wanted to beat but couldn't. Couldn't figure out a certain boss battle. I still have the save file though and intend continue.

Too many to list. The vast majority of my steam library, almost every Humble Bundle game, most AAA games like anything Elder Scrolls, Witcher, Dragon Age and Ass Creed. I just can't get into those games.

I have a lot, so I'll just go with the ones in recent memory, about the last year.

Borderlands 3 - I play games with great interest in the story, and being entirely irrelevant in this game's story was just too frustrating.
Final Fantasy 6 - I still can't keep my interest past the first major party split. I've tried 4 or 5 times now but this game just can't keep me on board.
Pokemon Ultra Sun - Honestly, I started this one almost right after finishing the original Sun, so I just got burnt out. It was my fault.

Dragon Quest 7 because of some horrendous bad luck.

First I had an Import version from the Usa for my PS1 and got quite far into it only to have my PS1 stolen.

Many years later I then got the 3ds remake and got to about the same point in only for my 3ds to brake.

Bought a new 3ds and started playing it again got quite far in again and this time my sd card fucked up lol. May attempt to play it again in the future at some point.

I never got through FF7 either, it bored the shit out of me with how mediocre it was, only reached at about 80% through the story and quit. Crisis Core though was AMAZING on the other hand and played it for hundreds of hours with multiple playthroughs! And if you meant Ever Oasis, then I quit that too, it looks fun, but having a clock that limits you to only 2-5 minutes of actual gameplay at a time was SO annoying I quit the game completely...

As for other games, recently I quit Inside, great game with nice atmosphere, but that hairy swimming thing you encounter at some points was the reason I quit it. First and second encounters with it are fine, kinda creepy, but the third one is just annoying and couldn't find the solution to the puzzle with it chasing me around so rage quit after like the 50th death... Other games I've quit are Ys Ark of Napishtim because I got SO bored with it after I reached halfway through, only Ys game I ever quit honestly, just all the grinding to level up the swords and the bad controls were too much to put up with! Then the first God Eater (Gods Eater, series changed to God Eater instead afterwards), great game but got tired of it and went back to Monster Hunter instead...

Witcher 3 (Steam) - I did finished the ps4 version and played but kinda stopped halfway through the pc version because I felt burned out with it.
Astral Chain - Also halfway and stopped because other games took my interest.
Dragon Quest XI - Same as astral chain.
Ac Odyssey - Fun but got bored with the repetitiveness and stopped.
Gears V - Lost my save and not really interested starting all over again.
Mgs V (Steam) - Same with witcher 3, finished it on ps4 then played it again on pc but eventually got bored with it as well.
Ff 7, 8, and 9 (Switch) - Probably like 5 to 10 hrs on each game but my interest with them also stopped when a new game is out. Also I've grown to hate the atb battle system.
Luigi's Mansion 3 - I love luigi's mansion when I was younger but this one bored me.
Destiny 2 - Too grindy and eventually lost interest.

There's a lot more but these are the ones I could think off right now.

I too have many unplayed games in my backlog, and it only grows (even on a daily basis now epic gives stuff away at that rate:P). This somewhat weighs in :if a game bores/annoys me even a little I just go elsewhere. So I just mention some highlights of one's I at least played a lot (and actually can be finished, unlike games like simulations or some puzzle games)

Outlands: a very good game. Fun, entertaining, familiar but new (platforming combined with ikaruga). I Loved playing it... And then the presumed final boss is just over the top difficult. That just threw me off (note : that wii Zelda game was almost in this list for this very reason with their 'oh, you beat the end boss? Here... Go up against street fighter' s Akuma for no reason)

Super Mario 3d world. I... Just don't know why. For time to time I play this, but while fun it just doesn't have starting power for me

Final fantasy 8:there were two things that piss me off in this game. The first one was when I was stuck somewhere near the start. I didn't mind, because if I grinded a bit more monsters, my level would be higher and monsters would be easier(I decided early on I didn't like the combat, so I at least wanted a head start)... And after a while I realized that monsters level up with you so any progress you make is just nullified.
The reason I quit was far infuriating though. It's that stupid card game. Didn't like that either, so I was glad it was optional.
... And then somewhere near the end all your stuff got stolen and you've got to get it back. As I found out, you needed to have gotten some skills from that card game to stand a chance to last even one round. So i was playing the game wrong for many hours without it even hinting me in that direction.
