I have successfully updated 1 of my PSPs to Infinity and am now trying to do the same to the 2nd one

thsi was has firmware 5.50 GEN D3

however for some reason when the PSP is connected to the laptop and USB config enabled the device shows the USB size as 4mb

at first I thought the memory card must be corrupt so I took the card out from PSP no 1 that i upgraded already and put that into PSP 2.

however this STILL shows the USB size as 4MB.

furthermore it does NOT show all the folders on the card eg ISO folder

please help

Hello.:)

Can you try to read the Memory Stick on an PC please ?
Maybe it is partitioned....

Thank you.:)

i dont have a memory card reader to connect it direct to the computer

when i open it in partition wizard it also shows 4MB

the same card in PSP 1 that was modded correctly shows the correct value

OK,to get it correct:

PSP1 has a Memory Stick of which Size please ? And this one is OK.
PSP2 has a Memory Stick of which Size please ? And this one is NOT OK.

PSP2 Memory Stick shows on PSP1 and PSP2 4MB ? Correct ?

Thank you.:)

PSP 1 - has 8GB stick - modded fine
PSP2 - 8gb stick - NOT modded

when i put mem stick from 2 into 1 and connect to laptop showsg 8gb

ANY card put into psp2 shows 4MB only and doesnt show all the standard folders you'd expect when you format the stick within the PSP

Thank you,that is better.:)

Maybe then a Firmware Issue...

What happens, when you Power on the PSP2 and

- Holding the HOME Button

or

- Holding the RIGHT Shoulder Button

or

- without the Memory Stick ?

Thank you.:)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Or,the worst Case, something on the Memory Stick Reader on PSP2 is broken...

I'll post a pic of the folders later but it does NOT show the standard folders you'd expect like

MS Root
ISO
Video etc
It seems to be a bunch of system folders
When I format it within the PSP I get these same folders

And what happens on PSP2 Format please ?

Ok so update

Whilst connected to the laptop I went into recovery mode and when I chose Toggle USB the PSP connected to the laptop and displayed the correct folders and sizes.

However I am back to the issue as posted previously of not being able to update the PSP.

I'll go back to my other thread and continue to post on that
