Hacking What Flashcart do you recommend?

The only flashcart worth using for 3DS games is Sky3DS+, but it's fairly expensive, so you have to really want it, because you could just get a bigger SD card and install the games as CIA and it'd be more or less the same thing.

I'm new to flashcarts on the 3ds,i do have an r4,but i want to play bigger 3ds games on a flashcart
wow that's a noobish thought ... instead of answering your question I will explain why it's so silly There are 2 main Draws of using a Flash card The 1st being extra SD card space and the 2nd being installation speed The 1st extra SD card space is easily defeated by the price that you have to pay for the Flash card itself if instead of paying for the flash card you put that money towards an SD card you would have more space and the incredibly long CIA a install times Are easily remedied thanks to a program given to the community by IhaveaMac That allows you to install the CIA files directly to the SD card using the PC ... so you see there is absolutely no reason to seek out a flashcard for 3ds roms

The best flashcart for playing 3DS games is the 3DS system's native ability to execute game code from the SD Card. (or, to be more pedantic, any compatible mass storage, which modern cartridges are to contrast with old school ROM chips) To get you started on your wonderful modding journey...

Seriously, don't waste money on a flashcart. Gateway is notorious for deliberately breaking 3DSes, and Sky3DS only works with dumps of Nintendo's retail-signed games, no homebrew or leaked development/E3 builds.. The community's efforts not only won't break your stuff, but NTRBoot (which needs a DS - or nitro - flashcart which there are actual uses for) can fully protect you from any and all software bricks. Only your 3DS actually breaking can make it stop working with that and a NAND backup in your toolbelt.

Just remember to install CIA files rather than trying to use ROMs.

That isn't even worth it because you can only play original 1:1 ROM dumps from retail cartridges, no eShop games, no DLC, not unless you also have CFW.

No point in a flashcart for 3DS games. You say you have a R4 but there are about a million different ones around. The best one to go for is the R4i Gold 3DS or R4i Gold 3DS Plus from r4ids.cn. But of course that's only for DS games. CFW has far more features and better compatibility than a simple 3DS flashcart.

And? Some people want to do that, if they really want to do it to the point of spending the money on it then let them have the option.

But it provides literally zero benefits over CFW and plenty of drawbacks. And it only takes a few seconds to convert a .3DS to CIA with 3dsconv anyway. Plus, they are way too expensive.
Think the Stargate 3DS would probably be a better buy than the Sky3DS+, at least it has some quality of life improvements that makes it less of a hassle to use.
I'm not gonna try to stop someone if they really really want .3DS ROM loading that badly, but you have to really think it through and be certain that it's something you need enough to spend the money on it before you take the plunge. For 99.9% of people, it probably isn't worth it.

i already have cfw and stuff, but i dont have enough room for pokemon sun,so i'm gonna get one prob

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

My opinion:

For Nintendo DS games: R4i Gold 3DS (r4ids.cn)
For Nintendo 3DS games: Softmod via 3ds.guide and CIA files installed to system
already have that, but i need more space to get pokemon sun, since i want to play it,but i dont have enough room on it cuz the cfw already take's up 25% of the sd card

Sky is around $80 Euros right now, so if you don't care so much for the convenience of using .3ds roms, you could probably find a bigger capacity SD card for a much better price.

Just buy a bigger SD card, you don't need to waste 80+ dollars on an outdated Sky3ds+ and a larger SD card, 256GB is plenty of space for you if you want to play 3ds games.

Did you not get the message? i already said i needed more memory, and the 3ds doesnt allow you to pass 256gb,and i already am going to spend like 6.75 eur n a 32gb one

Should be able to use any size SD card as long you format it correctly, I have 256GB micro SD in my Capture card unit.
