I want to make a new offline profile so I can edit my save games.

I'm planning on making a non-Xbox Live profile, editing my save game, and then keeping my console offline for about a week or two.
Would this trick/fool Microsoft into thinking that I earned my gamerscore, if they were to do another ban wave?

The last banwave for the Xbox 360 was like 4 years ago.
There is no save mod that could trigger any kind of ban, even the modified saves that gives achievements are safe from that.
Also, there aren't any save mods that could add you trainers or somekind of extra cheats, so almost all of the time, this saves only apply on single player and local multiplayer, so playing online is safe.

I'm just planning on fully upgrading my character, getting lots of money, etc.
Also, does that mean that I don't need to make another account?

you can get caught modding your gamer score. I don't know what they'll do now or what they're looking at, but as per the past, they'll reset the gamer score (not ban the profile/account or system) if caught.

tbh i doubt they really care, just be sure not to unlock achievements that require online play and i doubt you will have any issues, just keep it reasonable i.e don't just unlock 10 million achievements out of nowhere, but back when i was playing on the 360 i unlocked a few achievements every now and then and never got banned even during all the ban waves, i think the only "bans" they issued for save tampering was when some online games allowed mapping debug commands to buttons to negatively impact online gameplay for others

obviously if you want to be extra extra cautious don't do it at all, but afaik the only punishment they did for achievement/save tampering was gamerscore resetting
