I have finally gotten a chance to play my homebrewed Wii U after months of waiting. I have all of my games stored on my WD HDD. All of the games show up on my game pad menu, as seen in the photo attached. When I click into Twin Snakes the game icon appears but I am getting a "boot.dol not found" message. Do I just need to install Nintendont into my apps folder in my SD card to play the games? I could have sworn that is all that I need to do. I remember putting the games on to my HDD and simply testing them to see if they work by clicking on the game icon , or am I totally mixed up? Any help would be so appreciated. Thanks :)

Yes that's it just create on your SD card an "apps" folder and then "Nintendont" folder and files inside. Just copy "apps" folder from your HDD.

Thanks for your help. Sorry, probably a silly question but do you mean for me to copy my Nintendont folder with all of the files on to my WD HDD also? Do I just copy it to the root of my WD HDD? I have formatted it with my Wii U already and WUP installed all of the games over, will it be possible for me to connect it to my laptop now?

Hi. Here is the correct method, from (https://gbatemp.net/threads/nintendont.349258/#Setup) :

Install
1. Create a Nintendont folder in your device's SD /apps/ folder (ex. SD:/apps/Nintendont)
2. Download the meta.xml file and place it in the Nintendont folder.
Right-click this link and select "Save link's target as..." (or if you display the target's text in your internet browser, choose : File > save as)
3. Download the loader.dol, rename it to boot.dol and place it in the Nintendont folder.

You now should have :
/apps/Nintendont/boot.dol
/apps/Nintendont/meta.xml

Congratulation, you completed the installation!

Excellent man, many thanks. I will double check that I have this in the correct order. Does this mean I can play my GC games that I gave WUP installed to my Western digital HDD by simply clicking the game image as seen in this pic? Thanks again for the help

Yes if Nintendont is set up correctly you can launch gamecube games (and also Wii injected games) directly from Wii U menu!
By the way, you can inject (add) more Gamecube/Wii games to your WiiU using this tool (https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-wiivc-injector-script-gc-wii-homebrew-support.483577/).
Man I wish this tool worked for me. It would get stuck on build and go no further. I have gotten advice from countless people who know their stuff but nobody can help me. It happens to a numebr of people I have been told. Last thing to try was another laptop but I don't have access to one.

I tried all of that and got this message. I created an apps folder on the root of the SD card, In there I created a Nintendont folder and inside that folder I put those two files in. I followed it all step by step. I obviously ran Mocha before hand.

OK so I sorted it. I used Teconmoon wiiVCinjector to fetch Nintendont from GitHub. Thank you for all of your help :)

Hi, I have the same problem, except the right files are in my folder, in my sd card (still don't have a hard drive). The apps have run correctly once, but now they say they don't find boot.dol.
